Compression test procedure?

Quick question on compression testing these LT1 motors. Is there a fuel pump fuse or harness that needs to be disconnected before cranking, or is it sufficient to just hold the accelerator pedal?

That deactivates the injectors so they do spray fuel into the cylinder

Damn, how are you guys getting to the passenger front plugs? No matter how I mess with the overflow tank and coolant lines/wire harnesses, I cannot get my hands in there enough to pull the plug wires off, let alone getting a socket wrench in there for the plug!

Crimp the lines and pull the coolant tank. It's only one nut.

Ugh, I was hoping to not have to pull the overflow tank.

So I take it people aren't doing compression tests on hot engines? I'd hate to risk leaking hot coolant trying to get that tank out.
