(Update: Not exactly) Let's play the "was I screwed?" Game!

So, the ZL1 arrived at the dealer. Yay, right?

Well, this is a pickle. They are overnighting the finance papers, but the payment I was given over the phone works out to right at $5,750 more than the OTD I was given, over the life of the loan, than every online loan calculator I can find, including the one on their own dealer website.

So.....what surprise will I find in the loan paperwork?

Was the OTD mistakenly changed?

Undercoating?

Third party warranty?

Will I have a surprise ADM (which stands for Ahole Dealer Markup)?

Let the guesses begin!

Hope this doesn't ruin the deal.

I would have asked them for the details, rather than wait for paperwork.

I did. Salesman said the finance guy would call me back.

They are now closed, and I'll probably have the paper work within an hour of them opening.

They had 30 min to print and get it to UPS store, we talked about term and percentage, and since I knew term, loan amount, and percentage, that gives me the answer.

But we all know how dealers CAN be, so I texted to confirm that price after the 30 minutes he needed to finish and overnight everything. That was 1.5 hours before they closed. It is now over and hour after they closed.

There is still a resolution I can think of. They fix the price, email me a PDF copy of the new papers, and I mail them back.

Is a perfect world, (lol) there is a max term GM extended bumper to bumper for that price.

Hopefully it’s an error and not them trying to screw you.

Yes, hopefully, since they have been very easy to deal with so far.

I was really lucky to work out my deal with the dealer all by email/phone. The dealer would not budge on the price of the car; I didn't know people - in some instances - were paying over the MSRP for special Camaro orders, so I will count myself lucky. Although I couldn't get a discount on the car, they gave me a discount on the 7-year/100K mile bumper-to-bumper warranty (not GM, but supposedly great coverage, we'll see), and I also got 7-year/100K mile tire and wheel road hazzard, along with paint-less dent removal for dings. They also gave me an extra $1000 for my lease trade in. Yes, I had a lease, and they gave me $4000 equity for them to buy it out.

I hope the numbers work out for your new car, because I want to see pics of it all shined up!

Did you order the car? With a contract? If so, they can't arbitrarily change things on you now. If you DON'T have a signed contract with final pricing, they can try and do all sorts of things...

Over MSRP is the norm, MSRP is rather rare but it's been up and down the last year or two. 5K ADM isn't surprising, I paid $1500 over but I was going to walk at that figure. I got caught in the not having a written deal in hand when my sales person passed away. I think they were trying to surprise me with $2500 but settled on $1500.

Mine will be $1,250 under MSRP with no doc fee nor additional adds.

Over MSRP is only the norm if that is what you accept.

Correct.

I still have not heard anything. And it's looks like UPS lost the paperwork.

Funny how it’s 5k in their favor and not 5k cheaper…

Hunted down the UPS guy much to his annoyance, and he found the package, He just missed it when he went by.

We have a definitive answer:
Sales tax was being financed!

Here in Oklahoma, You cut a check when you register the vehicle. So the difference was sales tax plus the interest from financing it, minus $800. Still trying to figure out where that 800 is. My guess is they forgot some fees when they gave me the out the door price.

They're going to overnight me a new contract tonight.
