from my understanding they will get rid of apple carplay but android auto will still work since the base system will be a special google android system. Have to wait and see. Good news, it wont happen to a camaro. that much we know for sure

My 2023 GMC infotainment system is Google. I'm an Android guy and see no need for Android auto. The truck boots up with Google maps tied to my Google account.

i think the concern with this is more along the lines of charging for it. they are talking about locking features of android behind paywalls. have to see if that holds true and what it will look like.

Yeah, they explicitly mentioned the new subscription based model with the expected nice steady (and growing) revenue stream.
