No shortage of wise guys here I see. The problem is that he wasn’t expecting or didn’t see the irregular curb that was pushed out past the street alignment to accommodate more pedestrians as they came out of the parking garage. For the third time, it was apparent that a lot of people before him made the same mistake.

Yes, the Continentals have a lot of rubber, good tread wear and are quiet. I just put new oem Goodyears on my SS 1LE and it’s quite a bit noisier. Both have the FE4 suspension.

Thanks, I noticed he doesn’t have a Gen 6.

Ya, there is always someone... isn't there...

I never even knew there was such a replacement program... Good to know. Awesome you have your son in such cool racing programs... Wish I would have had some opportunities like that when I was his age.

Yes, I agree that intersection design would lead to problems regardless of who's at the wheel. Based on the pictures, your son is probably a more aware driver than most and my comment wasn't intended as a critique or criticism of his ability, but re-reading it I can understand why it might've been interpreted as such as I didn't provide good context. I was hoping to introduce some levity to a frustrating situation by indicating that some of his advanced skills might've gotten him clear of the curb, had it been visible in the first place and if those skills were appropriate in a public place, of course. Which is why my post was after the proof that he knows how to handle a vehicle...

"Give it some throttle, swing the tail end around, miss the curb" is where I was trying to go with the comment. Obviously I missed the mark.

As someone mentioned earlier, the (non-1LE) ZL1 sizes of 285/30 and 305/30 fit perfectly. Just in 19” not 20” wheels. Here’s a photo of the front when I had them on my white 1LE. On my son’s black SS with the wider ZL1 fenders I used a 12mm spacer with 1” extended lugs (longer than necessary for 12mm) which moves them out but also makes it easy to run a square 19x11 305 setup at the track with ET35 offsets on all 4 wheels and a 26mm spacer.

Had to buy a whole extra 2 front wheels because those 1” studs are impossible to find for the past 3 months lol. May I ask did you acquire them before that?

LOL I’m still waiting for the ARP studs I ordered in February. I found some made by PTC that worked to get by with until then. Haven’t used them at a track event and now probably won’t have to since it’s getting too hot here.

You don’t want the ones made by Syun unless you don’t mind drilling your hubs as they are slightly larger.
