Heads cam intake on my '18 SS 1LE

Hey all,

New to the forum coming from beemers. Cancelled a 2022 G80 M3 order for my 2018 2SS 1LE. Im looking to go h/c/i route for my car. My goals for the car are 530+ whp. Im daily driving the car in the summer so keep that in mind. I was initially thinking mild cam, stage 2 btr. But the performance shop I called said I'd need to go atleast stage 3. My question is keeping daily driving and power in mind which cam and supporting mods should I do? Summer daily driving, autocross and track days so the engine will be pushed quite often. Doesn't help that my buddies are rowdy on the road too.

I would take a specific power number out of you’re head. Get with a shop that is well versed in the gen v LT NA world. Tell them you’re goals and requirements. They will get you a setup that will perform and meet you’re requirements for daily driveablilty. I daily my H/C in the summer months on nice days. Have 12k miles on the build and love it.

Get a mild Cam motion grind...low 220's duration, .600 lift, on a 115 lsa.. spend the money on a good set of heads(Frankenstein/ AI / CID) and intake manifold(ported MSD). If you run E85 you will exceed your power goals.

People love to over cam cars to get that chop but seldom set them up correctly to perform. Large cam needs a large converter if auto or a steeper gear if manual. Those kind of camshafts also need more compression, octane(e85), and RPM(7200rpm +) to utilize their potential.

You're lucky, because one of the best performance shops is near you. Call KaTech and discuss your ideas with them. They've built many like yours.

holes in the hood go great with daily drivers.

530 whp shouldn't be tough to do. i like kings idea. small camshaft and good heads.

I’m looking to do the same, but with an A10 so I can’t go too big on the cam with stock converter. My biggest concerns are the valve seat issues, maybe I’m paranoid. So I reached out to Pray for a recommendation/package.

You should find a reputable shop that has a history of happy Camaro clients with custom valve train, and related mods. There's a bunch to choose from.

Just saw my previous post - call KaTech or Lingenfelter

Money no object i’d go with a Katech 427. Still thinking about it. Their short block is I think 6-8k. Blower is 8k all in prob 10-11k. It’s tempting.

If your talking about Katech's 427 short block it's 12k before taxes.
