I spoke with my father about this again. The only things we can come up with would be... 1) Go to a new dealer. Does not have to be a Chevrolet dealer, I would suggest a Cadillac store. Speak to their service before going there and get a feel for it, ask how they've felt with vehicles like this before... 2) Re-call Chevrolet Customer Service, open a case, if you haven't already. And complain Loudly. Use what you want as backup, possibly some wording that you're a very experienced mechanic/performance shop and can give quite the bashing session if need be. Wink wink. 3) See if either your current dealer, or a new dealer will give you the contact information for the Regional Zone Manager. The Zone Manager is the guy who that Field Tech reports to. If you can get a dealer that will either give you his contact info or the dealer will contact the Zone Manager themselves and fight for you, you may get some where. Goes without saying, that a LOT of these Zone/District Managers are a real joy to deal with (sarcasm) they're extremely lacking in customer service, they're all about bean counting, and they want to report to their higher-ups on how LITTLE they had to fix, not how much they had to fix. But they're not all that way, some are wonderful to deal with. 4) If the vehicle has been in to multiple times to multiple dealerships, none of which have fixed the problem, you are absolutely entitled to open a Lemon Law case. In which case, they'll be buying your vehicle back. If need be, lawyer up. 5) Get the dealership owner involved if you can. They'll have as much executive power as you could hope for. Some owners will do whatever is necessary to keep a customer happy and then ream Chevrolet out later. We have had to do it. That's all I can think of. PM me if need be. |

At any point did you AND The Field tech drive the car together? Seems to me if he were in the pass seat and you were driving took your hands off the wheel and gave it some gas, demonstrated the issue happens consistently that there is no way he could deny there wasn't an issue? It's almost as if they are treating it as a subjective issue. Can you get this on go pro? Start going all social with it?

Yea Ted, It sounds like you have a case. I went through this with my 5th gen ZL1. In the end GM made me happy, but it was a process. I learned a lot. I don't think you need a lawyer, I did not have one. You do need a letter of intent. Which sends you right to GM's lawyers. Of course the NJ Lemon law is pro consumer so that may have helped.
There was one part of it however that is still a mystery to me. Hit me up if you want to chat about it. http://www.gm.com/lemon-law.html

You Tube, Twitter and Facebook are very very big hammers that the customer can swing. I would only use them as a last resort. Again, demonstrate the issue in High Definition, document and articulate the problem while on video, show to correct people at (insert appropriate place here, owner, gm, sa, anyone of CH2MHP's mentions). Use it as leverage. You said that the eLSD was showing as active during straight line, zero acceleration? That ain't right. Get that shit on video.

In my mind Chevy built this super-fast car and if it's not safe with this defect the lawyers will do something. The sad part is they move so slowwwwwly and the weather is getting nice. The more I read the less of a fan of the E-LSD I am. If that is the root of the problem.

My goal is to handle this as diplomatically as possible without stirring the pot, I have respect for GM and My dealer but you can understand my frustration. I appreciate all the suggestions, especially from Can'thavetoomuchHP

Stories like this give the brand a bad name. And here I was thinking I wanted to replace my C6ZR1...

Granted, you'll typically have a better experience with brands that only have higher end vehicles, but that's not guaranteed. |

Agreed, but I was really thinking of just keeping my ZR1 and getting over this bug... |
