Air conditioning not cooling at high RPMs

Has anyone noticed the air conditioning doesn't cool at high RPMs? I couldn't find anything in the owners manual and was wondering if this was on purpose to ensure the most power to the wheels.

Yep! Doing the open road race awhile back I was doing sustained 125mph for long distances, I had to be in 6th gear because in 5th it would cut the AC off. It gets hot quick in west Texas in a black car with no AC. I sure wish I knew how to get around this issue.

It's to keep the A/C compressor alive, there is a table in HP tuners to disable the compressor shutting off at high RPM's.

Thanks everyone for such a quick response. I figured that it was shutting down for a reason, but wanted to make sure. My only other Camaro was a 68 and bot my vetts and my CTSV never had this issue. Again thank you!

Air conditioning not cooling at high RPMs

Crazy! Happened to me for the first time today. North of Dallas today it is over 100 THI. Glad to know it is something that seems to be somewhat common. Had cam and header package install 6 months back, and the motor was dropped, I was hoping that it didn't have something to do with.
