Stunned at how many problems keep popping up with this 6th gen ZL1.
Fortunately I don't have any other problems with this car, it is AWESOME!!!

I wonder where the 40 extra pounds comes from. And I wonder if the SS diff is equally stout to save 40 pounds?

So we pulled up the exploded drawings of the ELSD so I can get a better understanding of how it works, which leads me to believe that the clutch pack either does not have enough clearance in it or it stuck on.

The clutch pack is located on the right side of the diff.

Ted.
Do you have the exploded view of the Diff? I would like to see it.

I dont believe so.
I read somewhere a while back that the E lsd in our cars uses pressure from a pump in the transmission to operatre; this looks to be a self contained unit.

I think it might be. Pretty sure that's how it works anyway.

I believe you are thinking of the cooling side of the diff. It is cooled with the transmission fluid that runs through the trans cooler in the front of the car.

At this time I trust the BMW M DSC/MDM more than PTM. In the M5 I can be in the left lane at 70 mph, go WOT/turn into Right lane at the same time and the system will autocorrect. First time I did that in my 13 ZL1 was my last time.

I was hoping the ZL1 1LE PTM/e diff would deliver the same results. At this point I’m more aware and ready to respond when I go WOT in the ZL1 1LE.

Learn how to drive better and quit relying on the car to correct your mistakes.

The only problem Ive had with my car is traction on cold tires.

Update.

So after a day of Spirited Driving the car seems to have changed it's mind now it no longer pulls left but does have a slight pull to the right on acceleration.

On hard acceleration I can feel what others have complained about which is the right left wiggle.

It feels like the ELSD is applying the clutches and releasing and applying and releasing.

The weather is keeping me from driving it at the moment.

I will update you with more info as I collect it.

Ted.

I have no idea how you all deal with that cold weather every year. This has been a long winter.
