3 inch all round or NO?
I know a fair amount of boosted owners keep the 2.5 setup. You guys think I should upgrade to 3” cat back with custom mufflers for 800$-ish for just keep the 2.5” w/ my NPP muffler mod setup?

I'm interested in the response to this question. I just ordered a full exhaust system minus the mufflers from ARH. I have a set of NPP mufflers already but I was wondering how much would the car benefit from the 3 inch piping or is it just for show.

There are gains to be had but i don't think it's necessary until you are pushing over 750whp. But no i couldn't tell you unless i upgraded. I was talking to Ted about it and i don't remember the numbers he told me exactly. 102mm throttle body i know he said world be worth 15hp. I want to say 2"headers and 3" exhaust he said would gain me about the same.

From previous threads I’ve read, and YouTube vids, there are benefits. However, to see the most result, you have to be pushing some good power. I’m going to be in the 750-800rwhp range.
I’m just curious to see why some guys here keep the 2.5 setup with their FI build. I did see these.. https://www.speed-engineering.com/sh...s-1le-zl1.html Not bad for 500$. I’ve had my fair share of bullet mufflers. Love the sound (depending on brand), didn’t mind the drone, but they did drone ALOT!!

At 750-800whp it may be more. There is a full 3" set up for like $300 on amazon.... i almost bought it.

I would have to swap out to the quad exhaust tips, and maybe the muffler. Great price though.

Upgrading the exhaust is my project for next year, I was thinking 1 7/8" LTs and a 3" exhaust. I wonder if the size of the LTs would impact your exhaust selection, if you have 1 7/8" headers go with 2.5" exhaust, or if you have 2" headers go with 3" exhaust. Would a 3" exhaust on 1 7/8" headers be a waste?

Who tf said you gained 50 w/ 3”... it was in 1 of the old threads. What muffler did you have? I think that should be the limiting factor, if they’re restrictive.
