After watching the Charger Hellcat lap, I'm tempted to say a tire upgrade could cut 5 or 6 seconds off the lap.

I don't know, the guy who drove it didn't exactly give it the best review...it is more than just tires.

All the hellcats desperately need more and better tires.

The Challenger can take 305 rears without rolling the fenders..why Dodge goes small is beyond me.

Did dodge get a good deal on a cargo ship full of 275's or something? Why would anyone build a 4500 pound 707hp car and put 275's on it?

because mercedes built that chassis, the tires dont fit, and they aren't gonna spend money on wider fenders.

Hmm. Good point. Reminds me of my 05 GTO. Anything above a 245 required fender trimming. lol.

Bingo.

These are essentially the exact same chassis.

I kind of think Ford knew they couldn't get there with typical engineering (aka GT350) so they had to bring in the CF wheel to get competitive results. I don't want to go so far as to saying it's cheating...however no one else uses them...yet.
Was it cheating when Chevy used the Ceramic rotors on the Z28?

Again, I didn't say it "was" cheating...I do believe after engineering the GT350 they were not at the Z/28's capabilities so instead of bettering the cars actual design they threw CF wheels on it to achieve their numbers.

Oh and CCB's were already in use in production cars for years. Also all test run on the 5Gen Z/28 used cars with AC. What about the test on the GT350R?

Wasn't the SS 1.6 secs behind the GT350R around Laguna Seca?
