So, I'm at 54k miles and this came back after a year of not being a problem. I'm still under warranty so it should be covered right?

now, I'm not saying the tc or transmission isn't causing the issues, but check your tires.

all 4 of mine were out of spec, badly, on the road force balancer. We were able to get 2 back in spec, and the other 2 cannot, but barely. this leaves me with a pulsing vibration at about 60-70. this vibration isn't as bad as the rumble strip feeling I had before my tc was replaced, but I can easily see how you would think it is coming back, when in fact, it's the tires.

something to think about.

Brought my 2018 1SS into the dealership yesterday. at about 12k miles, and the shuddering just started happening. They said they don't see too many camaros, and coolant re-create the problem when testing it so sent me home. Just my luck

So right now mine is at the dealer in the process of getting the TC swapped out. Have about 6K on the car

It went in for a triple flush and was shudder free for about 12 hundred miles, then it started again. Now mind you, the AFM in my vehicle has been "tuned off" in the ECM so I don't think that was a factor. I did re-flash it to factory before bringing it to the shop.

The service manager, who is a personal friend of mine said they would need a TCM read [I'm thankful I didn't flash tune the TCM or I would have been up a creek] to warrantee the work. They drove the car with a reader plugged into the TCM and saw that the convertor wasn't locking or something so the work was authorized.

He also said that th TC's are on backorder [not surprised] but that he got one from the warehouse.

After reading these posts on multiple TC and trans swaps, I'm trying to remain hopeful this will solve the problem. Even with the F up headliner and the rear end moan [which the second flush did remedy] I would not buy a mustang. Had one and its overall just not as good as GM. Now if Chrysler updates and lightens the Challenger platform, it might be a different story.

Does anyone out here really know if the root of the problem is the fluid, the TC or the tranny? There are members here with high milage A8 Gen 6's who's transmissions are working fine. How do you explain that?

If you have the TC shutter you will see a fluctuation of RPM's. Look at your tach next time it does it.

vibration driving in the rain

I was driving in rain today and I had intermitted vibration that felt like driving over the rumble strips. This is the first time that I have felt this. I think it was mostly at low rpms when accelerating. I drove last weekend in the dry and didn't feel anything.

So is there some type of tune fix for the A8 Shudder? Would be nice to have a flash-able tune to flash on and off if you need to go in for warranty work.

At around 1100-1500 rpm, my engine makes a very slight vibration when it goes into V4 mode. When going back to V8, it disappears. It's slight though and I have to pay attention to notice it.
Also, at certain speeds, I note the non- runflats aren't perfectly smooth, either.
So far, nothing with the tranny issue, 8500 miles.

You have the tranny issue, and it will only get worse as time goes by. 3 Flushes here and TC replaced. Just came back after 5k miles. waiting for fix in 1st qtr.

I could get the car to shudder every single time at 71mph using cruise control and in 4 cylinder mode. Since triple flush the problem went away, but this doesn't seem to be a satisfactory fix since MANY have had the problem return, even after replacing the torque converter. Hopefully GM comes up with an actual fix. If not I plan on having the TCM re-flashed to eliminate slip once the warranty is up.

I was told today by dealer there is no fix at this time and GM has instructed dealerships to cease installation of new TQ. Supposedly they are working on a fix to be out first quarter of 2019. With this having gone on for so long, I’m not very optimistic. Should have kept my 7M C7.

I was told last week by the dealer that GM will have a fix in January and they can't do anything right now. I'm not very optimistic either but my lease is up in May so it'll end one way or the other.

To those who have/had the shudder, what did it feel like when it first started? On average, how often does it happen and how long does each incidence of the shudder last? Somewhat recently but very infrequently (2-3x/week, if that), I experience a very slight vibration that lasts no more than 2-3 seconds. It feels nothing like driving over rumble strips. This is my daily driver and my work commute is 30+ miles round trip. Is this the start of the shudder?
