Reminds me of the license plate mounting tabs being put in the wrong place on the back of my 2014 and the dealer having to drill right into the bumper surface to mount my rear plate.

On mine, they put a metal frame with the dealer logo plate on it. They did it to all the cars sitting on the lot. The frame put two scratches where the corners dug into the painted surface of the bumper. I mean...come on. Who the heck uses metal plate frames anymore?

Thats pretty poor. On mine they just mounted the plate. There were plenty of complaints about the issue during the 2014 model run.

When I bought my 2015, it had same exact setup.
Apparently, no one at GM cared enough for both years of the refresh to correct the mistake.

I agree 100% as my 2017 didn't have them but my new 2018 does. Typical poor quality control these cars are notorious for, and 3 years in why hasn't this issue been addressed at the plant.... Does anyone else have these on their 2018 ? Has anyone had this issue corrected under warranty?

Have them on my 2018. Never would've noticed were it not for this resurrected thread. IMO this is negligible compared to, for example, the bumper fitment issue due to heat expansion (there's another thread on it with a ziptie-based DIY fix).

On a related note, I'm afraid the community will not be taken seriously if we complain about totally inconsequential issues like these dimples, and I find it hard to believe there would be another $30-50K car with zero issues of this sort. Guys, much as I absolutely love the Camaro (and just returned from some evening driving fun with my daughter who was all smiles in the passenger seat), let's have some perspective and not forget this isn't a Bugatti Chiron. Don't you ever get rock chips, ever put swirls on the car making a mistake during a wash, ever curbed a wheel, scratched the underside of the rockers with a jack, or...?

Despite being a perfectionist, I for one decided to enjoy the car (while trying to do my best to keep in top notch condition) and not sweat every single lil' thing---I fix what I can, get the dealer to fix anything that's Chevrolet's fault and is fixable, and just let go of everything else.

I could completely agree with you if the plant was showing any indication that they were attempting to solve issues such as this, but we are now nearly 4 years in.. I mean come on, could it be that hard to find the cause of this and make it right ? And the stickers they put on our drivers side door state that their quality goal is best in the world.... The Korean manufacturers Hyundai and Kia have some of the best initial quality numbers out there, and they achieve this on mainly inexpensive vehicles. The Camaro plant could take some lessons from these guys IMHO...

I remember the days when we were all contemplating if the camaro would ever come back from hiatus. Now my 94 z-28 has a stable mate and I am very happy. Dimples and all.

I just picked up my 2021 LT1 a couple week ago. I have these two "dimples" just to the left of the us plate. I actually though the car got tapped coming off the truck. I understand the need for a "euro plate" solution but I have had ten new cars (lease alot) and never seem something as crappy as this. Could these be heated a pulled out a bit. Looks like garbage.

Just swung by the dealer and looked at 10 V8s from lt1 to ss to zr1 ALL had these, what a terrible euro plate solution.

Yep, mine has them too (21' 2SS). Thought it were dents at first. You'd think they just make a template that utilizes the dimple template made for US plates to line up, so they would be hidden, but oh well.

Remove the rear plate and you'll see a ton of weird markings and similar dimples.

With a widebody Hellcat, the whole goofy tacked on plastic fender-flare thing looks far worse than anything on the rear panel of a '16 Camaro.
