I would just think that if there aren't designated pedestrian areas that are both/either far away from dangerous moving, heavy equipment/parts, or protected in an enclosed or separate walkway, the liability GM would assume would be astounding. A car factory, even a super modern one, is dangerous for people who aren't paying attention to everything.

And in the end, GM would much rather avoid a lawsuit.

One reason tours may not be offered, is that once a customer sees how quickly his car is built he will feel ripped-off for the price he's paying...lol...
Give "How It's Made" a tour....I'd rather watch that than go there...lol... |

Lol But after a tour of the Warren Tech Center and seeing all the capital and engineering work that goes into designing, building, and selling a car the customer is more likely to think its a miracle that he could buy such a car for less than a year's salary

I agree with you. Unfortunately there's far too many people in America with their lawyer on speed dial that it just isn't something GM can afford to worry about.

I shouldn't have to say this, but political ideology has absolutely nothing to do with the topic at hand.

I've skipped factory delivery on all of my Corvettes because GM still charges you the transportation and delivery charges everyone else pays.
So, you have to add museum delivery, plus air, cab, gas, tolls, on top of what everyone else pays to have their new car delivered locally. If musuem delivery was a no charge option, I would consider it. But, I'm not paying paying twice for delivery just based on principal. |

More likely the customer would see the amount of engineering that goes into the manufacturing of such fine autos (not to mention the car itself) and think he's getting one hell of a deal
