first post, wanted to say hi!
I have been browsing this board for a long time and decided to finally create an account. I have been wanting to get into a GM RWD V8 car for as long as I can remember and am excited about the launch of the new Camaro. Over the last few years I had come close to purchasing a G8, CTS-V or a C6. Ended up with a Focus ST (don't hate, the car is so much fun!) last year since they're fairly cheap and knowing I wouldn't keep it for long. Was tempted to get the new Mustang instead but I kept telling myself to wait for the new Camaro, and thank goodness I waited.
Originally was planning on ordering one right away but have decided to wait and see what other models are on the horizon. Hoping a 1LE package is around the corner as I track cars fairly often. I know the new SS has been said to be faster than the 5th-gen 1LE but the timing also makes it easier to wait as I live in Nebraska. What am I going to do with a new Camaro when it's winter? Ugh. Another reason I'm excited is I love modifying my cars, and have a brother in Houston with a speed shop that specializes in GM performance. He's very excited about this LT1 motor (he has a C7) and me finally getting something worthy of him to work on |

Welcome. Tbh, you should have gotten a Pontiac G8 or GTO. Both are appreciating in value like crazy and will be worth more than the vast majority gen 5 Camaros in a few years. :P
Depending on the sort of winter road conditions you have, you may need a set of snow tires. May be worth looking into this sooner rather than later -- maybe you can get a deal at the time of purchase since the car could come with summer-only tires. |

The Camaro will not see the roads in the winters. I got a set of Nokian tires for the ST in the winter, amazing, but the Camaro will definitely stay in storage during the winter months. So waiting on the car makes sense to me, as much as it sucks. |

Hello and welcome. I too joined the forum about a week ago after lurking here and on Camaro5.com for a year. Looking forward to getting my first Camaro, though I'm likely going for the 2016 SS rather than waiting any longer. Maybe I'll upgrade to 2018 Zl1 or something down the line.
