How to listen to tunes while not driving?

Every once in a while I have an opportunity to listen to my music library while I'm outside of the car but I can only do it if the car is running.

How the heck can I keep the sound system playing (doors/trunk open) when I'm puttering around the car, hanging out at a car show, sitting outside at a rest stop etc... ?

Can't you just push the start button without putting your foot on the brake?

Sit in the car and hold the start button down for about 5-6 seconds without your foot on the brake pedal. This will turn on the accessory function - this is especially handy if you like going to drive-in movies.

Most people don't know how to do it with a push start car... and the manual isn't exactly the easiest read for some people..

Thank you and yes the manual needs some work!

you don't need to hold the start button down for 6 seconds. In a push button car you typically just press the start button one time WITHOUT pressing the pedal. This will place the car in ACC mode.

When I don't want the car in accessory mode, I just push the radio volume knob one time. This will power up the radio only.

How do you keep the chime from dinging the whole time?

Every time I try to play the stereo without starting the car, the chime won't stop.

See my post right above yours. You don't want your car in accessory mode if you have your doors open.

With everything off, simply push in on the round volume/power knob on your radio. The radio will power up and stay on until you push the button again. This only powers your radio, so you can leave doors open with no annoying chimes.

Thanks for posting that. I was hitting the start button without my foot on the brake.
