Really simple, fast to do, and the Macs straps are the bomb.
What length straps are you using?

Get Mac's Kit #511658 and select the 40" Axle Straps option - they are long enough to go through 11" and 12" wide wheels. (And they are of course fleece lined to protect your wheels). I also got the 8' long Direct Hook Ratchet straps. The Direct Hook option is really nice.

I have an aluminum trailer as well. I bought the Macs through the wheel option. I bought the extra long option because I didn't want to be to short but the standard length kit would have been fine on my 20ft trailer.

The etrack is probably a better bet but, with straps, aluminum Etrack, plus the other stuff needed I was looking at spending $750 vs $270 for the through the wheel option. I think the shorter kit is $250.

This weekend I will put the car on trailer, and, also see where the beams are under the platform. (check to make sure if I go eTrack I can access the bolt-nuts...etc). The MACs OverTire is ~$305 and 4x8' sections of T6061 eTrack is ~$240... So lets call it $550 in total. (And when this started my wife said "Can't we find a trailer for about $2500?.....my answer was.... N O P E)

I'm not a huge fan of the thought of the through the wheel straps rubbing the brake dust into the wheel finish, with the other the tire straps the wheel face never gets touched.

Once you call Mac your bill goes up. They sell track with the hardware. Or you can buy it yourself but lots of nuts and bolts add up. I was going to use Stainless fasteners.

Looking at the T6061 for tracks to keep the unlike metals from corroding. (Thinking any coated... whether paint, powder or even zinc, once mounted firm against the bed, those areas rub down to steel)

I was worried about that also but after 3 track days my wheels have road rash from track abuse. Lots of micro chips. Over time that will add up. So does it really matter in the end.

There is a special trough the wheel option. I just run straps through the wheels with some microfiber towels under them.

Thanks!

I already have MACs straps that I use for my Miata, was just wondering what size wheel straps you went with for the ZL1 wheels. I figured it would probably be the 40"...
