Any members had their A8 triple flushed in the DFW area?

I have the A8 8L45 tranny in my '16 1LT with 50k miles. I have had zero shudder issues but with 50k miles, I worry that it may not last. I would like to get the new blue label Mobil 1 fluid installed but I have a couple of concerns:

1. Will GM triple flush my transmission if I don't have the shudder yet or do they make you wait until you have potenetial TC damage before they will flush it? At 50k miles, I only have another 10k miles before my powertrain warranty expires.

2. I also worry about incompetent dealers after reading some of the horror stories about body damage from placing the Gen 6 on the lift.

Has anybody had this triple flush done at a Dallas area dealer and had good results?

I had mine done at Huffines in Plano a little over a month ago. Mine was in the very early stages of shudder so it was only slightly noticeable in the seat of the pants. They will probably need to diagnose it as the shudder issue before they will do the warranty flush though.

No diagnosis needed now with the latest TSB...just tell them it is starting to shudder, they are supposed to flush/fill with the new Mobil 1 fluid, no need to diagnose with the picoscope and test drive.

Is 18-NA-355 the latest TSB? It still calls for diagnostic testing for shudder including picoscope testing.

I just told my dealership it had hard shifting and they said bring it in and get the new fluid flush. No testing or Picoscope. They said it is no required anymore.

According to the July 8, 2019 version of the TSB, no diagnosis is needed. There's a screen shot of the TSB here. I'm trying to get a hold of the actual TSB for my appointment next week, because the dealership keeps telling me they need to diagnose the issue.

Although I could be wrong, I believe that the latest (July) version of the TSB no longer calls for a triple flush. They flush out your old fluid and put in the new type.

Dropped mine off at the dealership today at 8:00 am for the power steering recall, oil change and shudder problem. They had the mechanic ride along to confirm it, which it did. Uphill at 30mph always does the trick. He had a 2012 Camaro of his own and by the time we got back to the shop I was confident this would get done right.

They had it all done at 2 this afternoon and now it feels like it did when I drove it off the lot.

Knock on wood and thanks to the people who posted here saying it worked for their car. This dealership's been hit and miss for me but I get the impression they know how to fix it on this car and other models.

Frustated

My 2016 Hyperblue 2ss was suffering from the shudder issue (purchased new currently only 12500 miles on her). I've taken my car to CHAPMAN Chevy here in Philly. I presented them with a copy of The latest TSB. They insisted that they needed to road test it anyway . The tech was "unable to duplicate my problem" no repair needed (BS!) so they charged me a service fee for the diagnostic! After some back and forth I insisted the issue was there and I requested the service stated on the TSB. 24 hrs later the service was completed ( TSB 18-NA-355 AUG 2019) at my expense ( $361.78) ! Although, I'm happy the shudder issue seems fixed I feel screwed because it wasn't covered under my Drivetrain warranty! I contacted GM and apparently This TSB we all know about isn't listed anywhere or associated with my VIN #. The GM rep contacted the dealer and they agree that this issue must be duplicated by a tech before any warranty service is performed . Has any one out of their bumper to bumper coverage had this repair completed with out being charged ? Also does any one have the official GM notice about this issue ! (not the TSB placed on this forum)

Found it! - TSB 18-NA-355

aj1203, the trans and torque converter are part of the drivetrain. The drivetrain warranty is 5 years/60,000 miles. For the dealership to tell you it's not covered because your B2B warranty is expired is BS.

Good to know my 2019 Silverado is not on the list. My Camaro is at the shop right now due to shuddering that came on hard and fast this week. Started Tuesday with 2nd gear hitting really hard to light shuddering last night to constant shuddering today. This is the second time.

Thats the same TSB that I took to Chevy service . When I called GM customer service that TSB does not appear when my VIN number is put into their system. Even when the rep searched for the specific subject nothing was found! Even this didnt help my situation ....

It says right in the TSB for all Camaros with a 8L45 or 8L90 from 2016-2019. So it doesn't need to be searched by vin.
