80mm throttle body/ported manifold
I’ve only seen two people selling these for our cars. Sold by Jacfab or Kenny Roberts on Facebook.
Anyone have experience with either? Are both the same? What am I missing? Should I use the stock CAI? Any details about setting up and wants needed to complete the upgrade would be awesome! |

To my knowledge, those are the only people selling them. If you’re in the “6th Gen V6 Camaro Group” on Facebook somebody actually just posted some Dyno results.

I've had the Overkill/Kenny Robert's ported manifold/ 80mm tb combo on my car for about a year. Sadly I wasn't able to get after dyno results. I felt some low, but mostly mid range power bump. If your mechanically inclined you can install the intake in less than an hour with basic hand tools.

Just means that the stock setup isn't starving the v6...and given it's stock performance (which is good) that's not surprise, or rather shouldn't be.
In a supercharged/turbo/e85 setup, maybe it will matter. |

This test was done with a stock 72mm TB. I wouldn't expect much more than the gains he got with only a port and fill job, since the engine isn't getting any extra air. It is pretty neat to see that porting and filling the intake is improving flow.

Where can I buy the 80mm? I remember seeing somewhere I could send my old one in and get some money back. Im getting the AFE intake soon and I think the 80mm would pair well with it.

The throttle body and ported manifold pair well together. Jacfab, Overkill, and Kenny Camaro Roberts offer both of them. Check out the Camaro 6 Gen V6 Facebook group. |

Im on that facebook group. And I saw the manifold pair but Id rather not spend that much. Was just looking for the throttle body. But can I send my original back in for money back, because I saw that somewhere.

I think Overkill will be offering an adapter plate for an 80mm but I’m not sure you’ll get any money back with that, since it’s a new throttle body you’re getting instead of a ported stock TB. Also keep in mind the entrance to the stock manifold is around 72 mm and is ported out to 80mm for the combo unit.

Okay, well I may wait a while and upgrade all of that at once. $650+ is just a little steep right now.

We now stock the new bolt on Overkill 80mm TB kit. The adapter plate is designed with a tapered bore, kind of like a velocity stack, 80mm opening at the front where the throttle body bolts on, and it tapers to 72mm of the stock intake manifold opening. This new setup will work with a stock intake manifold or a JacFab filled and ported intake manifold.
Quote from the Overkill website: Quote:
K&N and AFE users will need a 3.5" to 3.25" straight reducing coupler to connect the air tube to the 80mm throttle body. GMPP intake users will need a 3.5" to 3.0" reducing coupler. Have not worked out a solution for the new CAI Inc cold air intake yet as its still too new. Along with the TB kit, as of Monday we will be offering a coupler and clamps as an optional purchase to go along with the throttle body kit that will suit the K&N, and AFE intakes. We will not be stocking a coupler for the GMPP intake, and probably not the CAI Inc intake. If you buy the Overkill 80mm ported manifold, the 80mm adapter plate is permanently attached and is irreversible, which may make it difficult for states with stringent visual smog inspection as you will not be able to put the stock airbox/tube on, nor the stock throttle body with this manifold. We (JacFab) are not a fan of this approach of permanently modifying the intake manifold so that you can't go back to, or use stock parts if you choose to, or need to for smog inspection. The JacFab manifold has a stock size throttle body inlet, which you can use the stock or VMAX throttle body, or the new bolt on Overkill 80mm TB kit with the tapered bore adapter. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. |
