Service airbag light...WTF!!

No reason for it as nothing has changed. Random "service airbag" warning and red icon on dash. Seems to be in the seat. Anyone else have a problem? PITA!

I know this a older thread. But needing some info. My service airbag came on. Long story short.. I was cleaning the car out and moved the passenger seat forward. Needless to say i heard a pop and crack. The culprit was a large metal water flask that was under the seat. Looked under the seat nothing seemed broken. Started the car and got the service light. Checked again felt the connecter to the seat loose from its mount but still connected. Thinking its the culprit. But then again I used a uplostery cleaner and the seat is damp as well. Im taking it in... hopefully convince to fix under warranty.

it ended up being the driver's seatbelt pretensioner. The dealer can read your error code for the body control module and determine the source.

Thanks for the info. I am sure they can narrow down to what's wrong or broken for sure. Taking to the dealership on Wednesday. Hopefully it will be less of an cost with warranty coverage and not play hard ball. I guess if the cost is all on me then may dip into my umbrella insurance..

Labor won't be much as the seat can be removed in about 2 minutes. My car had to wait 1 day for the parts to arrive.
