It was my understanding that you cannot "swap-a-lease" with GM Financial when I looked into it about a year ago for my Camaro.

I turned a GMC in early to lease a bigger vehicle. I had to pay the rest of the payments up front, but when Ally sold the vehicle at auction they actually sent me a nice check because it sold for more than the residual. It was unexpected, but nice. I know a lot of people hate on Ally, but they hooked me up and I broke even in the end.

I'm seeing leases that have to be close to or more than what a finance payment would be and they're for 4 years, 12 months after the bumper to bumper warranty expires. If power windows and radio go out at the 45th month that repair cost is on you.
I agree, never said it was good. But $20k out of pocket for my 36 mo lease isn't too bad. In 3 yrs the car will only be worth $28k anyway. So finance, or rent it turns out the same after 3 yes, as I will be getting something new anyway.

For me, ill be starting med school either right before or when my lease ends, at which point i wont have a job and couldnt pay after that so a lease was my only real option, that or a4 year finance which would have killed me

I got a 2016 2SS convertible for $603 a month and $51 out of that goes to taxes. The msrp was almost 54k. 48 month 10k miles a year. At the end of the lease will still leave about 19k or so

I was in the same situation last month. I leased a 2016 RS but monthly payment was 299. 3 weeks into my lease I learned that I had to relocate. I put the car on Craigslist for someone to take my lease over. I had 50 people that wanted in the first day. I called GM explained the situation and told me you cannot transfer the lease within the first 6 months and go back to your dealer because I'm still in the grace period. I called them up and we checked the payout price it was 26k and they gave me 25k so I gave them the 1k difference and walked out.

Call your dealer and see what the payout price is and see what they offer you and pay the difference
