Only thing cheap about speed engineering is the price

Thats my take anyway. Just put a set on. They feel of quality and strong. Fit is very good seems to me. These are 2 inch. No part of them needed to be bent or any of that nonsense.

What I notice is these have a very similar pipe configuration like the kooks. I bet theirs probly no power difference between these and kooks but I will never know for sure. What I like to see as equal length as possible in the pipes.

Just started it up in the garage, Try to drive it in a few days. I put 2 of the 3in vibrant ultra quite resonator's on. That is totally custom to get them to fit and mount up to the stock exhaust. It was a lot of work. 3 of the ends of the resonators had to be cut off realigned and welded back on.

Excuse the red paint lol its the only high temp I had around. I will be using heat shield products to put on the headers up top for heat control.

They slid in pretty good from the bottom drivers side easy peasy passenger side had to remove the starter to work it on that side. The starter shield fit right back on and was able to slide a piece of heat shield between the starter shield and the header.

Ill post some sound clips in a few days when its completed.

I bought button head bolts on amazon for the steering but was not needed. lots of clearance. The number 5 plug is tight. Had to use a wrench on the spark plug tool. have to have a 45 degree boot as well the stock wire will not work on that cylinder . did not try on any others.

Questions? ask away.

i like mine. the only thing i don't like is that i'll have to remove the pass side header to replace the starter. the speed engineering headers are great. the x and mid pipes are junk.

Looks really good. I was thinking of getting those and decided to get TSP headers because the price is half the price of kooks which I had on a previous build. I would recommend you get a set of Spark Plug Wire Thermal Heat Protectors on those wires.

Thanks I will be putting the heat shield on the header for that and underhood temp.

My question would be: where are the savings? These headers cost about $40 or $50 bucks less than TSP headers of the same size depending on where you shop and what time of year you buy. I would understand the appeal if they were at least $100 bucks cheaper than everyone else's headers, but they are not. So again, why?

O2 sensor placement means those sensors will fail fast and often. Is that common on LTH ?

I think its more like about 4 or 500.

I paid 511 with stock oem gaskets bolts and 2 afr extenders shipped to my door.

Headers are 449 shipped

Ive had them on for years, really solid part. The xpipe could do with better fitment. But parts made great power na

I had them on my C7, loved the price, performance and they fit really well. I also ran the longer plug wires which give you a little more to move the wires around and keep them off the headers. I did replace the original band clamps which were much narrower with 4" band clamps as I had a couple of exhaust leaks.

I’m sick of dealing with clamps. I’m doing vbands at the headers and welding up the rest. I found that even with the 4inch clamps I still had small leaks.

It's nice to know that nobody HAS to spend $1800 on a pair of well fitting good headers. And it's good to know that whether you spend $500, or $500 + and extra $1300, you will get the same performance. Now I'm not knocking Kooks or ARH or any of the other top brands. But I think there are enough examples out there to prove that some of these prices are wayyyy over the top.
