White smoke on start up

My car is only driven on the weekend and after sitting all week, it huffs out a white cloud of smoke that smells fat as hell. Im not using any coolant, so I think I may have an injector leaking. Anyone else experience this or think I am off base on my thoughts? I will be taking it in but I wanted to get some other opinions as well. Thanks.

The only time I have seen white exhaust smoke was when I had a head gasket leak.

Are you sure it's not just some condensation from sitting for a week? How is it driving? Does the smoke go away? Was it just the one time or is it all the time?

Definitely not condensation, I live in the desert and it happens in the middle of the summer. It drives fine and the smoke goes away. It happens every time I start it after sitting.

I really appreciate all the questions!

Condensation or fuel injector? I also read that E85 can cause white smoke/steam? Any changes to fuel?

Some gas smell at startup is normal since your engine runs a bit rich when you cold start it(as the fuel doesn't vapourize as well) and your catalytic converter is still cold.

If it's not a very thick smoke then it's just some water vapour. Besides, if you are running rich, your car should be puffing out black sooty puffs.

Its not black or really thick but it fills the garage with the door open and you can smell it in the car with the windows open.

The tailpipes are black like many DI engines but I don't believe it should be smoking like this at start up. I realize all motors are a little different but why would mine smoke like that and most not with the same factory tune?

It does not sound like anything is out of the ordinary. If it happened all the time and didn't clear then that would worry me. But it seems like it is happening only at initial startup and only after sitting for a week. Even tho you're in desert climates you can still get condensation if it sits overnight and definitely after a week of sitting. Or so I would think. The fuel smell is at startup because gas powered engines tend to run rich at first start since they are in open loop. Which is also why the EGR system recirculates exhaust gases thru the intake to help warm the intake quicker so it can get into closed loop. Also at startup you'll notice the engine RPMs are a little higher for those first few seconds. Sorry if my explanations are a bit jumbled but I've had a LOT to drink tonight.

Anyway, it all sounds normal to me. The engines and ECUs are soo sensitive these days that if you did have an issue then you would have seen a CEL and reduced power mode. Or you for sure would see billowing clouds of smoke and it would just get worse. As well as your coolant would decrease. None of that is happening so I'm of the opine that it is just initial start after a week of sitting and collecting condensation.

Take it for an extended drive and get on it a few times and enjoy it and see if you have any issues.
