In reading your posts I didn't see where you installed the Circle D converter. Can't imagine you doing those 60's with a stock converter. Sounds like you may have the same Circle D that I have, a 3EX. It has a flash stall speed of 4,100 rpm and it is tuned for TCC lockup in third gear at 5,500+/- RPM (60 MPH with my gearing). Don't understand how you can command TCC lockup for roll in any other gear, RPM or speed on the fly? Are you actually talking about flash stall speed? If so, that cannot be changed without changing the stator. At TCC lockup in third gear it should not "slow down" the car at all. The RPM will drop slightly and the only way I can tell it happened is by the engine sound; very subtle, sounds like a close-ratio gear change. No MPH drop at all. If you are having a MPH drop anywhere in the run, something is wrong. I was thinking about changing the TCC lockup to 4th gear on the theory that the transmission would spend less time in the weakest gear, fifth. Brett talked me out of it saying he had done "extensive testing" on lockup and third gear is the best. I trust his advise a lot more than my theories. This converter should be launched at 2,500 RPM; 3,000 RPM (better if you can hold it). Unlike the stock converter launched off idle. That is an attempt to "flash" the converter (get it to flash stall at a higher RPM than its design (1,800-2,200 RPM). No need to do that with the 3EX. You'll never see 4,100 RPM with your foot on the brakes (Unless the rears are smoking!).

I’ve tried a few different launches and my 1.45 came at 2200RPM. The 1.48 came at 2300 RPM. Next time out I’m going to try 2000 and work my way up 100 rpm at a time. Brett did say that 2500 is going to net me the best 60’ possible if I do the brake hold thing, which I’m still confused about lol I emailed Brett yesterday and asked him about 2nd gear lock up I’ll see what he has to say, only reason I even thought about it is because I got the converter 2nd hand and my buddy who ran it had his lock up in 2nd gear, I have a video of his run, his car ran 6.8@100 with a 1.46 60’. I have the TUTD tune and it will definitely lock up in 2nd gear in manual mode, the rpm drop on the shifts goes from 6500rpm to 5200rpm, and on the track the drop goes from 6500 to 6000 on all the shifts except when the converter locks up it’ll drop to 5200ish. I guess I just have to wait and see what he says. Last edited by Murder6.2; 05-15-2022 at 06:04 PM. |

I installed the Ported Lt1 intake or TB but pulled it back off before we dynoed, put the stock intake and tb back on and sold the ported TB. Decided to wait and buy a 95mm ported TB and may sell the ported Intake and do an Msd or Lt2. I did find a stock 95 and bought it but hasn't arrived yet so I may just have it ported or run it stock once I decide on the Manifold.

i thought i was the only one. my car picked up a little bit over 100 mph but the 30-100 times were within hundredths of a second. difficult to be consistent with an m6 but i have a lot of dragy history with each setup haha.

On my C7 I went from a ported Lt1/ported 87mm. Went to a ported MSD and lost ET but picked up MPH. It took a little more time to get the MSD dialed in but we finally picked up a 1/10 from 11.00 to 10.90 but overall picked up about 3 mph at 128 mph and some change. So your still running the stock lt2 manifold and stock TB. Pretty impressive I'd say.

I track my 40-100 50-100 and 60-100 times and hardly noticed a difference. If anything actually helped with those times it was the aerospace brakes and weight reduction I’ve done shaved off about .2 of each. |

On my new Camaro I can and currently looking for one. I already have a 95mm TB so I'll run across one in the next month or so. I agree I wouldn't invest in an MSD again. I have that Lt1 ported I may put back on since I picked up this 95mm TB. Easy swap.

I do think a stock LT2 manifold is a nice upgrade over a stock or ported stock manifold mine went from 96mph in the 1/8 with the ported stock manifold to 97.5mph and that was with the stock TB and stock air box with a drop in filter.

Is pray saying to stick with a stock air box for lbo cars? Maybe modded air box?
