Got a C6

Well I no longer have a Camaro. I traded my beloved 2016 V6, M6 for a C6 Corvette. I was just wanting a V8 manual and very strongly considered a new LT1 although the deal on the C6 was too much to pass up. So I finally have a V8 manual transmission now. I did love my Camaro though and it will be missed- it was a great and fun car and I had 0 issues with it.

The C6 is a 2006, convertible, Z51 package, manual 6 speed, Corsa exhaust. It has 28K miles on it, 1 owner. It's in great shape, garaged. It needs a bit of detailing and clean up, but is pretty nice overall. I paid 19,000 for my V6 Camaro a little over 1.5 years ago. When I found the C6- hidden on a Mercedes car lot- I figured I'd have to sell my Camaro to Carvana. Carvana offered my 19,000 for it. So I went back to the Mercedes dealer and made my offer on the C6 for 26K. They accepted it. Then I asked if they would take my Camaro in trade- they said yes and offered my 19,500- more than Carvana. So I nabbed the C6 for only 8K and my Camaro. So I did not have any depreciation on the Camaro. I paid sales tax on only the difference, registration and dealer fee. When I was pricing up a new LT1 it was going to be my car and 20K. I have gone through the C6 bumper to bumper, changing all the fluids- everything is super clean underneath and the fluids were all clean too. So I think I did OK.....

I thought it was a rule of thumb that it was suspicious to buy a used car with all new fluids. Like some used car dealers do that as a way to hide leaks.

hopefully that's not the case and it's just been babied.

How many miles on the Vette?

You will be a lot happier compared to the V6 Camaro. 0-60 times around 4.5 seconds and I think they do the quarter around 13 seconds. Granted with traffic during season in Naples might be hard to use all that power.

Congrats. The 2006 C6 had an issue called Dead Battery Issue. Parasitic drain issue. You can Google it. Hopefully you won't have it. You could always hook it up to a battery maintainer if it does. Hope you enjoy your new to you Vette. I loved my C5 6 speed manual.

I've also seen some on here with the Camaro 6 having same issue too.

The C6 is my favorite corvette late model body style. I think the best are the GS or ZO6, but they all look good to me. Congrats.

Loved my modded base 2006 and 2013 C6's. Much better than my 2019 C7 other than a more planted feel in higher speed turns with the C7. If i had to do it over i would have kept my C6 two more years and never bought the C7. But i do like my 2021 LT1 very much. Stock vs stock it feels stronger than the C6's did and seem to handle about the same.
