Nice choice! I'm in the bike business, current personal ride is an FJ-09.

Track days with 4 wheels is enough for me. I just don't trust myself with 2 wheels.

Actually, it's pretty similar. Both are stupid fast on the street, and you can only use a very small percentage of the performance. My last track bike (GSX-R1000) would do 92mph in first gear.

At least the ZL1 is a pretty comfortable place for normal driving. Sportbikes suck on the street.

Yup. The track is the only place to really enjoy this kind of performance.

Think of it like this: The skills to shoot a .45 well are slightly different than the skills honed shooting a 9mm. There is still some similarity despite the differences.

But even though they are different one does not make the other boring.

And once you are past 30, sportbikes do suck on the street.

Yeah, a TW200 has been one of the bikes I've been looking at (also KLX230), but they seem to never depreciate, and the little 200s just don't have much poop up at altitude, where it will get used the most. Also looking at DRZ400s...

I really like the Versys X, just wish it was a little lighter. A Honda CRF350 Rally would be perfect, if only they made one...

May as well chime in here. At 72, I’m loving my sportbike more than ever. 68,000 miles. Only long rides. 200 whp. Breathtaking acceleration. Mid 9’s from the showroom.

On a similar note, I do highly recommend high speed off roading. You can build a truck for it or just buy a Ford Raptor or Chevy Colorado ZR2.

Nice '-14! I had it's predecessor back when I was drag racing.

Also had a 'Busa for a while. I wanted a '-14 for a while, but decided I wanted a lighter ride. I may have to own an H2SX at some point, though...

Dont know about this comment ! I'm about to be 50 years old in June, Been riding since 13 years old, my 1st bike a 1000 FZR new at 21 years old, I Had all the bad boy bikes, and have a ZX14R now, at 6,4 260 pounds, nothing and I mean nothing compares to a big bore sportbike ! I would like to do a turbo hayabusa one day, I had a 1397 hayabusa(13 years), pistons, cams, ackropovic full Ti exhaust 200 hp. The bikes accelerate seems like twice as fast as a car, I just get tired of putting on leathers, boots, gloves etc, The ZL1 has heated and cool seats, I can wear shorts shirt and tennis shoes, and ride in AC+ plus go around curves just as good, and stay cool inside(ZL1 is the best buy in years and my 1st sports car). I have a LS chevelle that I have twin turbo for, I'm just a motorhead, and love road racing, and a little drag racing also. Bikes will always be the baddest ** on the planet. unless you drive a 2000 hp car, or race a funny car, then there is spider man Larry McBride who runs 3-4 seconds on a funny bike. Bottom line each has there place, But I hope to be riding at least to 70 ! LOL !!!
