Rented a Minvan, sounds better than Camaro V6
I love my 2 LT V6 Camaro but simply cannot stand the super quiet exhaust on it. (Non NPP). My GF and I rented a brand new Dodge Caravan Minivan this past weekend and she says- what is that sound? I said it's the throaty exhaust. A shame the exhaust on a Minvan sounds better than a Camaro. Why did Chevy put that monster canister on the back instead of 2 smaller mufflers on the V6 drowning out any sound? Cost might be even cheaper with 2 smaller mufflers. Does anyone actually like the sound or lack of sound on a sports car? It's my worst gripe about the car. And to change that monster canister is not cheap- Borla Atak will set you back well over 1K. The NPP is a 1K option. I'll eventually get the Flowmaster axle backs but they are still at least $500

Do you have NPP?
I Looooooove the way the Gen 6 V6 NPP sounds. Reminds me of a Ferrari at high rpms. |

Maybe if it sounded good there would be no reason to offer the option?

I like quiet exhaust because it's about my comfort on long cruises, not about impressing 15 year olds on the sidewalk.

I highly doubt the minivan has a louder exhaust. Anyone who stands behind a V6 Camaro at start up can tell it’s much louder. You’re hearing a mix of intake and exhaust booming in a large box cabin. And the Borla atak is not well over $1000. I think you’re exaggerating slightly on both.

I'm guessing the van had an exhaust leak of some kind if it truly was a "throaty" exhaust sound. I literally just rented 2 dodge caravans and one chyrsler. I've even had a malibu 3 weeks ago as a rental....not one was throaty or performance sounding what so ever.
Pic of the one from St Louis, See the enterprise sign in the back for proof. And i took a pic because my wife didn't believe i had gotten another van as a rental.

yeah, sorry but I'm calling B.S. on this too.
Even the 1LT non NPP V6 has a pretty respectable exhaust note especially when accelerating. |
