2018 ZL1 orders

Does anyone know if the 2018's will be very limited as the 2017's have been or will we be able to order them like normal vehicles?

GM wants to sell as many ZL1's as possible...only reason we all don't have our orders in for builds is because of restrictions/limitations to launch. This is not a limited production vehicle.

No, only reason our orders aren't getting built is due to shit planning haha

Really??? This has gone exactly to plan with zero delays... Phase 1, 2, 3. Just like any new model they don't magically appear one day with no waiting line.

Production is not limited but early on there is always a scramble to get the 1st ones. If you're planning on an 18 then I'm sure a few others will be waiting in line for the new year model too so my advice would be to get your dealer to start an 18 list with your name at the top of it.

It may not be a "limited production" car, but like the 5th gen ZL1 you will seldom see another pull up next to yours maybe the whole time you own it. Couple that with the fact that most Chevy customers (to include people in general) are priced out of ever owning one and all of a sudden this car becomes an exclusive piece of machinery. They will not produce a ton of these cars and 2017 is the model year of all to get your hands on for this generation.

They said that for 2012 too... but I'm quite sure the 2013 is more desirable now, but I hope you're right about the 17 being it's a 50th anniversary year.

Neither GM nor Ford is going to sell tens of thousands of Pony Cars in one model year at 60 thousand a throw. Ain't happenin. You don't see ZL1s, GT500s, ZR1s, etc. at every other red light because they are not sold in those volumes and that is due entirely, 100% to price, not the manufacturers limits on build volume.

Yes that new mylink radio with Navigation was everything for me in the 2013 model. I didn't mind passing on the 2012 one bit.

Assuming a dealer has a long list already for the 17, wouldnt those get priority for an 18, regardless if you are the one to "start" the list?

Yes, in 2012 I was 3rd on the list behind Hennessey and KLR ZL1 and mine ended up being 1st for 2013.

However, I really wanted a 12 so I went looking, lucked out and found #23 because someone backed out of the deal when they saw the HP numbers for the 13 GT500.

I still liked the old school 12 setup and I also had the flat black CFI which was very rare, especially with the black stripe. Most all stripes were gray.

I love the MyLink, Nav and all those bells and whistles in my other vehicles but not so much in the Camaro.

The MyLink with Nav is why I would've bought a 2013 and up ZL1 if I'd had the chance. Other financial decisions has kept me out of one until now.

I just don't see there being any big changes from the 2017 like that, so the 50th anniversary of Camaro and the fact it will be the first with the 10-speed auto are huge reasons to get one now for me. About the only thing they could do to make me wish I'd waited is add about 100 warrantied horses and I don't see that happening. They could possibly add adaptive cruise, lane keep assist, and a front parking camera. I wouldn't mind the adaptive cruise, but it wouldn't be a game changer for me. The lane keep assist really means nothing to me and I can add a front parking camera myself, so, I think I'm all set with the 2017.

If the retro look is more important than the bells and whistles, then the 2012 is definitely the way to go. I have to agree, the MyLink doesn't fit with the retro theme at all. I wish GM would've designed the new MyLink a little differently so it didn't stick out like it does and was more incorporated into the dash layout, but I can live with it. Another downside to going with MyLink is the loss of a CD player. Guess I'll have to catch up with the times and start an MP3 collection. Lol!

Looks like Dodge made over 16,000 Hellcats in 2016. That's quite impressive in my opinion.

Do we have the numbers on how many produced ZL1's per year starting from 2012??

That may give an indication of what to expect for 2017 & 18??
