Kinda sad seeing the little fella amongst akl those motor parts. By the time he's your age and has a boy of his own, he'll probably post pics of his kid, surrounded by batteries and big ass electric motors.

Thanks man! He loves the car stuff and everytime we’re watching videos of old cars or old races with this car, his attention goes from you to wherever the sound is coming from with a big smile on his face.

Well, I haven’t updated this in a while, but the car officially saw the light of day last weekend. Just need to install the front brakes, put the new wheels on, headlights and get the front bumper painted. The wife and I decided that we are going to make a couple of trips with the car where the weather is warm this winter to get a few passes in. Finding a tuner will be the next endeavor!
I also snagged up a brand new 1 piece DSS driveshaft and a set of new DSS axles(I know they’re not needed) from a guy who’s car I did some work on as part of the payment. So those got thrown on the car as well.

Have you thought about opening the rear of the hood to help with cooling because I did a high ram on my 2016 and found that the high ram was a heat soak pig. My engine temps went down and helped to cool it faster between runs. Nice build.

I actually have thought about it. I was going to do it, instead of pulling the wipers and cowl like some do for the same reason. Thanks man!

Sick build. Wondering why you went with conical as opposed to dual springs...

Because Conical springs are much more stable at high RPM.(7000+)

Thanks man! We chose them because you can run a more aggressive lobe, they are smaller in diameter in the upper half to reduce mass, you can get more power with them, along with increased RPM limit over a dual spring depending on setup, improved stability above 6,000rpm. Gwatney and BTR actually did a test with conical and duals. It explains it a little more than I do here. Pray has been using them for some time now as well for similar reasoning.

I’ll most likely do what I normally do with them and just check them every 15k or at the beginning of spring and end of summer/early fall. The design is supposed to help with longer valve spring life as well.

Is the valvetrain the only thing that holds the LT1 up from 7k+? or does the rotating pieces need attention? It seems like there is a lot of different "opinions" out there, and I say "opinions" because I feel like its 99% just what someone thinks or feels and 1% actually tested or engineered.
And kind of off topic but not really, but is the LT6 the first OEM use of dual springs? I would assume though the springs they are using are nowhere near like the kind we use and especially since its a DOHC. |

Meant to post this before, but I was able to get it fired up and have to buttons few little things up and it can be driven. Actually got a set of BSR Comp Cams Shaft rockers coming as well. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=n5vrHIFr0AE
