2018 2SS Lease

Looking to lease a 2018 2SS Camaro with magnetic ride, npp exhaust, and possibly recaros. Price online comes out to be somewhere between $45k-$47k. What have people gotten their prices down to? Monthly payments?

Side note: Are the recaros worth it? Haven't sat in them before

Recaros are good for racing...the side bolsters are like shrink wrap around you if you are a larger male. I am 6'8" 235lbs and thought they were a bit constricting. Not what I would want for a daily...weekend toy would not be a issue.

True. I'm 5'8" 180 and have a 1LE as a daily driver and find the seats to be awesome and yet somewhat uncomfortable at times because the side bolsters come up too high into my pits. They don't let me relax my shoulders.... but the driving experience helps me to forget the small discomforts though.

So they don't sound good for any drive that is a longer distance..haha that's okay though, that's why I am asking!

Have you ever leased a car? You are asking all the wrong questions.

You need to know: MSRP, sale price, money factor, incentives, residual, etc. Don't worry about monthly payments that what the dealer wants you to worry about. Run your own calculations and come up with what you are willing to pay.

Also never put money down on a lease.

You will never get the same deal as someone else, everyone has different credit and negotiating skills.

Good luck.

Thanks a lot for the information. I have not leased a car before so I am looking for any information I can get. I'll definitely take all that with me.

Look at leasehackr.com lots of information there, including calculators.

Okay, I will look on there tonight. When I get the numbers, are those what I take into the dealership with me and say this is what I want?

It is tough to find good lease deals out there on the SS. I just leased a 2017 2SS with a $45k MSRP for 39 months / 10,000 miles per year. Money factor was 0.0014 and residual was 57%. Credit score is 820+.

I was able to get it for $3,300 down (with title and all other fees included) and $362 per month. This does not include taxes since they vary state to state.

I was getting plenty of quotes in the $500s (even $600s) with $3,000 down, so I was pretty happy with the deal. I don't think most dealers even try to compete based on the responses I was getting.

The money factor was oddly higher and the residuals were oddly lower for 2018 models when I was looking around. You can also negotiate more on price with a 2017 model. Since you're leasing, it really shouldn't matter if you get a 2017 or 2018 model since you don't need care about the resale value like someone who owns the car would.

You need to look up (use leasehackr or edmunds forums) money factor and residual. Your goal will be 1% of MSRP or less as payment with nothing down, except first payment. Find out that information and email local Chevrolet dealers what you are looking for.

Just be wary as the SS doesn't lease well, gonna take some good negotiations.

Example. My Scat Pack had an MSRP of $43,xxx after negotiating sales price and with incentives and residual my payment is $377.13/month with tax $385. Nothing down only thing was first months payment.

lease. ask if the rear quarter panel being sand blasted with stone chips is covered under normal wear and tear because within 4000 miles it will need to be repainted.

chevy has some of the worst lease rates compared, to other mfgr,

you can also do insurance bonds that will be returned to you at the end of lease and make your payments lower,

never put anything down on a lease !!

Id never lease a car. Do some research online and pay the extra 120 bucks a month. You will be up by thousands as apposed to NOTHING by the time you decide to sell in 4-5 years.
