2020 Explorer ST

We have the Jeep SRT Grand Cherokee & Trackhawk...
Now, Ford reveals an Explorer ST...
And you have GM releasing another effeminate CUV thingy with the new Blazer. Can we please send Mary Barra to the crusher?

While I don't think they should have slapped the ST name on it(same with the Edge ST) I think its awesome. Perfect family hauler with more than enough power to not be boring sounds like a winning combo to me.

A twin-turbocharged Explorer with 400hp, solid brakes, upgraded suspension, quad exhaust, etc., is permitted to wear the ST moniker, IMHO.

Guess I just see ST as being on hot hatches lol. Either way I think this thing will be a blast to drive, especially with the AWD being RWD biased

GM needs a midsize based off the Colorado/Canyon with the 5.3 just to compare with the 5.7 Hemi before they worry about competing with SRT

I want some fun, performance-oriented GM vehicles. All we have is the Camaro and the Corvette. I already have those. Why not a Sonic SS with ~250hp, a Blazer SS with ~400hp, an actual performance Buick, etc.. All GM does is put out RS models. While sporty in appearance, they lack any performance upgrades. I've owned two Cruze RS models. The '13 was nice and my current '17 is nice. I want some performance models! With the Cruze, Impala, etc., all getting the ax, why not release a few choice SS models among the smaller fleet of vehicles?

Slapping a few stickers and different wheels on a model doesn't make it fun.

They make a high performance (V8, or TTV6) Colorado or Canyon....there is a high chance I'd go for one....serious!! (GM...you listening!?) lol

(No, I don't think there is much or any chance of them throwing a V8 in the current mid-size trucks, but by God if I could have the LT1 from my Camaro in my Colorado it would be so glorious).

I would like to see the Ford VS the Dodge comparison, and where is Chevy what do they have to compete with?

I think the Explorer going back to a RWD based platform is a great move for Ford and the ST will a blast to drive with 400hp but god is that thing ugly!

Nothing. GM has nothing. They're too busy trying to appeal to soccer moms and beta-males.

Appearance is subjective. With that being said, I think it looks pretty good. Too bad it doesn't have a bowtie on the front.

On paper the SRT should be faster in a straightline, but the ST is a few hundred pounds lighter.

Agree, I think this thing will be a blast drive. Could be an option to replace our Explorer in a few years

I think the SRT has run 4.9 60' and a 12.9 in the 1/4 but would need check to back up those numbers.

Yeah I don't see the ST coming close to that. The Edge ST with its 335HP and 380TQ was a 14.3 1/4 according to C&D. I would expect the Explorer ST with its RWD biased AWD, 10 speed, and 70 extra HP and 35 more torque to probably be in the mid to high 13 range
