Headers and Sound.
Looking to get a few things done with the car this spring. One of them is installing Kooks headers with green cats. So I have a question to all those who have aftermarket headers and are still running cats. How much louder does it make the car? I already have the borla atak catback on the car, and for those who are curious I'm planning on getting the MSD intake manifold, Rotofab CAI, and e85 tune as well this Spring.

It should be a good bit louder as the headers increase the sound, and you are going from primary and secondary cats to just the green cats.

Long tubes and Borla Atak will be pretty aggressive. Cats will help keep it somewhat sane but it's gonna be loud.
Also, keep in mind the Roto-Fab intake will rub on the radiator shroud with the MSD intake so it will need to be trimmed a bit. We have great deals on everything you are looking for and we're in IL. If you're in the Chicago area we'd love to help out with the install and tune as well. |

Unfortunately, a lot of header cars have cats deleted on youtube. I want cats and headers and have the same question as you, but will end up doing it anyway with the stock npp once I'm ready to blow my warranty. The addition of the borla midpipe increased the volume a good bit on the stock car. I'm thinking the volume difference will come from the change in stock primaries to kooks. I can't see the headers themselves adding much volume. |

Heres a quick vid I made. Tx speed 1-7/8 w/cats. Hopefully you can tell the volume. Also switched modes....

I am pretty significantly modded at this point but I can tell you without any hesitation that when I went with the Kooks Long-Tube 1 7/8 with the high flow cats, it made the car at least 25% louder.
Now it scares my employees at my office when I start the car.
