Any issues with headers and heat?

General question here. I'm installing headers next week and was curious if there are any issues with heat. I've seen some posts about melting wires, etc. Obviously need to zip tie as needed to keep things out of the way but when I spoke to the sales guy at Kooks and asked him about the spark plug boot protectors, he said in his honest opinion they weren't needed. Any thoughts on that?

I just got myself some MSD wires just to be sure. On my driver side 2 of the 4 plugs touch the header. I added the sleeves for the mean time but I would just get the msd ones just to be sure. They are 80$ and look cool too

ARH 2x3” installed and I don’t see a reason to be concerned with OEM plugs.

I got the boots figure it couldn't hurt..
I saw a dyno test where the car lost 10 hp with msd wired, maybe just an anomaly but stock wires work fine..

I burned halfway through one of the stock wires a few months after putting on headers which caused a random misfire. Was a fun thing to hunt down as it was throwing a CEL. I now have MSD wires and much prefer them as you can bend them away from the header.

Yea there are heat issues with headers. The starter, plug wires, and wiring harness on passenger side need to be addressed or you will have issues. Not a big deal if you know that going into the project.

It will cook, the starter and part of the header need to be wrapped. IMO of course.

What do you mean by wrap the starter and header? With what and where do you get it?

Nothing on mine is wrapped and I haven't had any issues with anything, yet. I'll cross that bridge when/if it arises.

All I did on mine is rotate the wire where it plugs into the coil just enough to take the slack away from the header. Ez as that
