M6 zl1, what tranny fluid???

What tranny fluid do you guy recommend and how many quarts?

Royal purple syncromax or redline d4 synthetic atf are the 2 popular ones. I think it's about 4 quarts. If it's the same as the ss, which I'm sure it is, fill to 1/8" below the fill hole

What he said. Just did my M6 SS, used the redline DT4, I can def feel a difference.

if it was so easy to make the m6 shift better just by changing trans fluid why wouldn't chevy do it at factory have to wonder if just changing stock fluid would give same results.

Because GM buys their fluid in a bulk purchase at the best price possible for a fluid that meets their requirements.

I mean, if the factory fluid took 3k to become crappy why bother replacing it with the same? 4k on redline and it's been great so far, shifting around 6700 and normal driving in 40°weather. We'll see how well it holds tho, but so far better in every way, in my experience.

that's what I want to hear long term results. so many things on the market promise unreal results and after you buy them you get nothing near advertised
