ZL1 Lifted - Dealer

I got my second FREE oil change and I will change it from now on. But if you ask the dealer they will lift it this way instead of the 4 point lift.

This is the only way to lift the ZL1

I would be surprised to see a dealership that DOESN'T lift it like that for oil changes. The tires never need to be suspended in the air unless they're coming off or there's suspension work involved. We lift with drive ons as much as possible. They're safer and faster.

The first oil change they did not lift it this way. So I asked.

My plan is to use my two floor jacks, one on each side with the ZL1 Addons. I bought them last year but have not used them yet. They should work great.

I understand that, and I've read your thread(s) before that went over how they improperly lifted it and whatnot. I was merely pointing out that I would expect dealers to use Drive Ons, if for nothing else for the liability. It's just so much easier to drive a car such as a Vette/Camaro onto a drive on vs correct lift points, which most dealer techs don't follow anyways.

In your garage, Race Ramps might be a good option for you. Yes you can use Jacks and Jack Stands but you'll need to lift from the proper places on the pinch welds of the car which require Jack pads/lift pads/pucks or something that safely straddles the pinch weld and comes below the rocker. There's tons of information on it, just google it. ZL1addons has the most popular option I believe. Don't attempt to use a block of wood or a cut hockey puck either, you're asking for trouble.

I know you were. NP. We both have been around cars for a long time.

The service writer they have different ramps for a Vette because they still rub on the ones they used for mine. He said the ZL1 barely cleared, but cleared. So I'm good.

Yep, we use a Race Ramp product to extend the ramps on the drive on racks for lowered or stock Corvettes/Camaros.

I may still buy the Race Ramps yet. I was looking at the 67 inch ones. Have you had any experience with those?

I have the 67" race ramps and the extenders. They work great.

My first oil change on my 2012 ZL1 the dealer used a roll on lift. Except it was the kind qith a lip around the outer edge and the rolled my front rim into it and just peeled the aluminum off like a razorblade. I'm dealing with a dealership that messed up my fronts now on my 2017. After 7 weeks of trying to get them right with no such luck. They are now looking for perfect takeoffa. The owner rold me that those wheels are $1500 each.
