Interesting...everything that is listed there is 100% true, a ton of us here have experience all or at least some of those issues. Whether something comes out of this, who knows. The A8 has a lot of issues that probably will never be fully resolved, I am sure they GM will soon try to hurry the A8 out the door and replace these vehicles with the A10, but who long term if that is better.

It seems like many manufacturers are having issues with these types of transmissions.

I find it funny how they’re selling it as a “safety concern”. All the issues they have are not what I would consider a safety concern by even the farthest stretch of the imagination. Then again, maybe I’m a bit too old school...

After my flush last week, my hard shifts went away as with the shudder.

I agree, but also haven't experienced the issue. "Acceleration delay" (on a low 12s 1/4 mile Camaro) being sold as a safety concern seems like a pretty ridiculous claim.

Have you flushed the fluid out before or is the 1st time?

The transmission is definitely erratic in it's behavior. One day it's fine the next day every shift feels like a power shift. I don't feel unsafe driving the car at all but I do wish the transmission would operate as intended.

My main concern is it's not going to last long, and it will decide to implode as soon as it's out of warranty.

Any2017 or 2018s A8 with this issue ?
Or does this primarily affect the 2016s

I live in palm beach gordon and doner are an 800 lb. gorilla law firm . They must have some info on a class action that I havent heard of yet .

My inside sources tell me its a torque convverter issue not really a trans issue . But is probably closely related

It definitely happens on the 17s. Had my trans flushed one time at 11 K. Took care of it until around 14 K and it came back.

That about sums it up. It will shift fine one day and then act like it has a shift kit and shift hard as hell the next day. This trans is the most inconsistent pain in the ass I've ever had.

My transmission has been refilled with the new fluid and so far so good. Even if the law firm is legitimate I don't myself signing up for a class action lawsuit over the transmission problems.

This issue hasn't impacted me yet. However, I would love to see this either push GM to create a preemptive fix, or protect me should this happen in the future.
