Wow what a small world - yes this is my 1LE that was stolen back in December. Good detective work folks! The rims and tires are still there because of the Gorilla locks (which I still have the lock for). When it hits auction I will be in line bidding, and have a little extra incentive to win

And so everyone knows - not sure if folks remember the huge rain storm out here in the bay area around the second week of December - but the rain was entering the cabin quite a bit. Good sized puddles had formed inside. I went to see if my leather jackets, guitar and other things were still there but alas, they were not. They did leave my owners manual of all things. It had no door for a few days, maybe longer. Steering column is jacked, they pulled the ECU, On-Star (glove box is trashed), the ZL1 skirts are damaged on one side, trunk is completely stripped as well. It will have electrical concerns. However, I will be in the bidding for it because I do want to restore it back to what it was.

It has something to do with the assisted power steering unit. Only the ZL1 and 1LE share this upgrade from the factory

As stated above 1LE's have a designation in the VIN Code (5th digit)
S = 1LE 1SS or T = 1LE 2SS

I don't think that's accurate. Correct me if I am wrong but the S and T denote a 1SS or 2SS W/Manual Trans. Since a manual trans is a given in a 1LE the wording suggests that ONLY 1LE have an S or a T in the Vin. What about a Manual Trans SS that is not a 1LE?

Iroc Drew you may be correct on that! I got the S = 1LE 1SS or T = 1LE 2SS information from the ZL1 and 1LE Registry. A SS manual transmission I believe = J designation in the fifth digit VIN Code. I could be wrong.....it would not be the first time!

That thing looks sick even without the doors ! Lol. ... What's the chances of finding a SS let alone a 1LE in that good of condition! It would be sweet to see how many ppl is bidding and how much it sells for!

Well as it turns out I missed the boat - was checking regularly but hadn't checked in a week and poof - it was sold. In any case, I picked this up after it was stolen during the 20% off sale, it's on it's way to being just as capable of a car (has the 1LE suspension installed, gears and half shafts are next)

If the current owner of this car somehow finds this thread, reach out to me with a private message. I have some things you may want (original spoiler, skirts, and most importantly the master key to the Gorilla locking lugnuts).
