Whipple build

Finally got my Whipple build finished up and on the Dyno.

Setup is:
Whipple 2.9 with 3.5 pulley(8psi)
Ca performance cat deletes
Rotofab dry
Ported LT5 tb
LPE DI pump
LT4 injectors
ZL1 intank with JMS booster
Flex sensor on E80
305/35/20 555r Nitto

I don't have a base line so the Dyno numbers are what they are. It made 596whp in 5th gear @ 8psi on a Dynojet. From what I have seen 5th gear reads 25-30whp low compared to 6th. I'm sure the tires are probably eating a little power too.

For reference there was a C7Z M7 with Headers, Pullies, LT5 tb, CAI, E85, and fuel system, it made 650whp @ 10-11psi. This car also made 700whp on another Dyno.

Fuel system seems to be ok. Low side holding E80 like a champ, the High side pump is maxed and just slightly dropping pressure. It holds E70 like a champ.

I attached a few pics of the build.

Indiana Muscle Car did the Dyno tuning.

Dream Maker Performance assisted with the install.

Thanks, I will post the graph soon. I may eventually try a smaller pulley and mix around E50 or E60. my local E85 station is usually around E75-78, Justin was able to go up to E80 comfortably. So I was able to hit my goal of running E85 without mixing.

Nice Build King. I am running the same pulley and maxing out at 9psi of boost on 92 pump gas, I also have headers, so not sure if affects the amount of boost I am seeing vs your 8psi.

I just installed a flex fuel kit and will be doing some testing in the spring with E60ish. No pump e85 here, but I found a local distributor where I can buy 55 gallon drums of E85 at a decent price. I will need to mix it down because it is true e85.

Way to go KingLT1, you will love the increased power. Pretty good numbers thru an A8, too bad you didn't have a baseline, but still good numbers. Enjoy!

Thank you. I have been following all your guys builds as well.

This is my first FI setup since 2003 when I had a P1SC on a 1996 Z28 M6. Well I also had a 2000 Regal GS that was a 3800 supercharged as a daily back then too. It was pulley, down-pipe, tune.

I have been primarily a NA guy since then. I had a 2002 Z28 A4 that I did the heads/cam/intake/stall/exhaust/gears and tuning.

On this car I did all the bolt-on stuff and tuning (with Prays help!!)but I decided to reach out for assistance on the Whipple install. Had I gone the Procharger route I would likely just done it myself.

I may do a cam and pistons down the road, but wanted to keep it fairly simple for now. I like to enjoy cars in stages instead of doing it all at once.

Great numbers, King, especially on stock exhaust! I'm anxiously waiting for the machine shop to finish up my motor so I can button everything up and start working with Ted on the tune. I'm really hoping to be able to run Eanything without having to monitor and mix. Based on your results, I would definitely be golden with a LPE pump. I'm hoping my LT4 pump/32 degree cam will get me there.

Thanks! I think the LT4 pump and 32% lobe will get you there for sure.

I hope the lt4 stuff will get me there.
How's the light throttle driveability with the Whipple? My maggie had a flat spot around 2000 rpm that was a little annoying at times. I'm sure I could have tuned it out t eventually but since I was doing a cam and lt4 fueling this winter I didn't want to bother Ted with it since we will be starting all over before anyway. I'm hoping we can dial it in do that I don't even know the blower is there when I'm not in the throttle

Thanks. Yes the power curve is stellar...big fat torque curve but it still builds power clear on out.
