New Personal Best ET but low MPH

I'm having Better ET than most on the fast list but my MPH is way down.. Anyone have an idea why my ET is good but the MPH is low ?

I tried had last night to get a 11.99 pass but I came up short .. Air was pretty good for FL ..DA +500 ...My 60s and 660 ETs look great but looks to be down 3 MPH from others on the list .. We even had a bit of a tale wind last night

That is an awesome ET for bone stock. MPH does seem a tiny bit low. I think it could possibly be warmer air in FL than in the Northern climate.

I see your posting to the fast list. I think the 66 degrees is definately the reason.

A8? I would love to see a 1.x anything 60ft out of my manual. That would put me right where you are.

Mine stock trapped 114 mph also, I think that is fairly normal for them.

Usually when you get a better 60 ft mph goes down some I bet if you ran a 1.9 60 you would of trapped 115 or better

Your 60’ is the reason for the mph, which looks good anyway , how did you get a 1.7? What was the launch rpm, tire pressure ?

Foot Brake it to 1100 to 1200 .. Tires set to 28 PSI . Do a pretty good burn out .. That's what has seemed to work the best for me ..

That is if the track prep is good , most times they do a very good job at track prep ..

I question the MPH because my friends SS ( 100% stock ) ran a 11.88 @ 117 at the same track in close to the same air .. Then he moved up north and ran a 11.84 @ 117 ..

In Florida, even when it cools down, the humidity is usually still high. On the rare occasions where humidity is low and the tracks are open, the cars are much quicker.

But with that ET, your car was making good power so that may not be the case.

Idk...Snowblind and several others have trapped their highest with their best 60ft.

looks to me like the OP is losing mph in the front half. Would have to see a log and get some data. My guess is the first 2 shifts are not right. Some A8's shift better then others...mine when stock would shift 1-2 at 5k rpm no matter what I did and that hurts 1/8 mph.

The difference is your buddies car is getting to the 1/8 much quicker then you are. Look at the back half...he is only gaining 23.5mph on the back end where you are picking up over 24mph. SO your car is making the power it's just not using it efficiently and I would bet a blue bill that it's in the TCM tune. Like I previously said, some A8's shift better then others for some reason. The first 2 shifts seem to be all over the place from one car to the next...the only gear that shifts properly is the 3-4 on these A8's.

Thanks , I have noticed that the 1-2 shift happens at a very low RPM as does 2-3 shift ..3-4 shift feels solid and quicker and the RPMs is much closer to the red lite ..

I always hear people say that the better the 60 foot the lower the mph but with my 6 spd firebird that doesn't happen. My best mph are always really good 60' times. Maybe if it is a more race oriented setup with the tire/suspension setup that may happen. My best 60' was a 1.59. I ran a 10.55. It was slipping the clutch/fast release.
