Very cool stuff!

I wonder if the Sierra/etc new pads will fit into the Camaro?

It’s $100 and if it doesn’t work, they sell real quick over at the gmtrucks. I use it more than I thought I would. I got it originally because I don’t like having things that don’t work. Lol

GM is in fact working on wireless charging upgrade kits. They will run about $100 and will be released for I believe all GM vehicles that are equipped with wireless charging. Last I checked, I think the truck kit will be one of the first to be released.

Has anyone removed the back section of the console that holds the charging pad? Is it just held by clips, or are there screws or attachments to the front part of the console. I tried to remove it but have been unsuccessful so far. I was curious if it could be modified in some way to make it more useful, but have to see what's under there. In all honesty I use CarPlay a lot which makes the charging pad useless to me, our radios require it to be a wired connection.

I believe all radios require it to be wired. That's probably a safety thing I guess lol

Damn that would be sick if GM can somehow roll out an update for our radios to make Apple carplay wireless

GM has a kit available. $99 retail, p/n 84526978. It is a customer pay upgrade, no warranty.

Screws on the back side along with some retainers. Looking at GM procedure, you have to take the center console out or free it enough to get to the screws. Might even have to remove the back seat bottom.

Reviving this thread.

I have lifted the console on mine and it does not require the removal of the seat bottom, you just need to pull up the edge from underneath the seat. Which makes it a little scary trying to push it down past the leather... It looks like simple tabs that hold the rear cubby to the charging location but it was hard to see in the light I had.

For those who are replacing the wireless charger, could someone post a pic of the connection that your wireless charger plugs into? I am trying to convert my non-wireless charging cubby into a wireless charger and I have figured out everything but if my harness is even capable of plugging one in, a picture would be greatly appreciated
