Powerstop Pads for SS
Okay, so I ordered the Z26 pads for all 4 corners so I can stop the dust.
I got the -1474A pads as that was spec'd. Car's in storage so I can't check this myself, but what's the dealeo with the two "counterweights" on the top of each pad? After searching around a bit, seems there's a -1474 and 1474A, with the former not having the weights. Wife's got a '16 CTS with Brembos and it calls for the same pads, but when I took the wheel off today to check the wear and see if I should order her a set, I noticed no weights on the OEM pads. Appears pads with weights would actually fit and clear the wheel, but it got me thinking if I got the right pads for my '16 2SS. Can't remember seeing those weights sticking out of the calipers on my SS, but can't say I've ever really looked closely. Only had the car a year and haven't taken any wheels off yet since it gets stored in the winter. Inquiring minds would like to know!

I don't know the reasoning behind why factory SS pads have the weights. (never looked into it) but I DO know you don't need the weights. none of my aftermarket pads had weights. No side affects felt. Factory pads did have the weights
