First Mods: exhaust or cosmetic?
Hi, all. I just joined this forum.
I'm debating on what to mod first. My car has the npp, so my exhaust options seem to be either the MBRP for $600 or Borla for $1,300+. Both axle back quad tips. I'm in California, so this should be fine with emissions. On the other hand, I do want a front splitter and side skirts. Maybe a wing, but this might seem riced. For background, this is my daily and I commute 100+ miles. |

The way I figure it is that you already have a nice built in exhaust with the NPP, so I'd definitely go the cosmetic route. For a day driver I'm not a big fan of splitters, side skirts, etc.. That's just me though

I wouldn't touch the exhaust either, IMO there isn't much to be gained over the NPP with your 2LT car. On the other hand, the splitter and the side skirts will make it look much more badass.
The potential downsides in a daily driver that HCI2000SS may have alluded to are 1) scraping the splitter, 2) accidentally cracking the splitter into a high curb or stopper as there is no front camera, and 3) stepping on the side skirts or hitting your shin bumping into them, they do add width in a somewhat unexpected location. If you end up doing these cosmetic mods, I'd consider a more aggressive diffuser as well to complete the look (that's what I did, and now the "meanness" of the car is balanced front, sides and rear).

Had a 2016 RS for my daily driver as well, but no extreme body mods. You can take a look at the photos in my profile for more info about the following minor cosmetic items I customized, if any of these are of interest.
California here as well, so I swapped to the sho-n-sto front plate mount in place of the big ugly factory mount that covered up the great looking grille. Unfortunately there were holes drilled in the plastic grille for the factory plate mount, but a couple of black plastic snap-in plugs from the hardware store fixed that (I think they were marked as a Nissan style body plug, and they matched the color of the grille). I also got the ZL1 Add-ons rock guards - several options out there for rock guards, and your paint will thank you. Then I did a wrap for the first time on any car I've owned. I did the hood and rear spoiler in satin black, as well as the "shark fin" antenna. The shop just couldn't get the antenna right (kept peeling from bottom) so I ended up having the antenna wrap removed. Originally I planned on matte black for more of a classic muscle car look, but after reading around I determined the matte wrap would be too high maintenance for a car that "lived outside" (not garaged). I ditched the factory lug nuts for a set of matte black lug nuts. Finally, I added a body color front bow tie and, with the exception of the RS emblems, otherwise debadged the car.
