Race Ramps
Hope my fellow forum peeps could help me out. I have read many threads on the zl1 and which race ramps works best. Most comments are from 2018. I am gonna get a set just looking for some insight.
My main use will be for oil change and some minor adjustments. Do people prefer the XT version for 10" lift or the standard 8"? Which size are people using? 56 / 67 / 72. Definitely the 2 peice version. |

Zigg, the 67 inch XT 2 piece ramps would probably be the ones to use with our ZL1s. They are designed for low clearance vehicles with 12 inch wide tires! Those are the ones I’m going to get from Summit Racing soon!

I have the 67 inch 2 piece ramps and they work. the only thing that comes in contact is the little rubber pieces under the splitter. They just barley contact them when you place the ramps at the tires. As soon as you start to pull up and the tires come up on the ramps then they clear. You will be happy with the 67 inch 2 piece ramps. Using theses ramps i dont see how the shorter ones would not contact the actual splitter but others have said that it clears, but in my mind i just dont see how as there is an angle difference between the two.

I have the 80 inch 2 piece version. I like that the front section can be flipped over and used to load on a trailer. And being a big boy, the 10 inch height is great for me.

Is the 8" lift not enough? Seems like majority goes for the 10" and the 67 for the wider ramp. 56 and 67 XT have the same approach angle really depends if you want the extra 2" lift

This is exactly my experience and glad I didn't get the 56". No clue how that wouldnt scrape the front splitter and push the ramps. "Race Ramps RR-XT-2 Low Profile Ramp" |

With the 67 Inch ramps you still need the extenders The Zl1 has that front lower dam that will scrape with just the ramps..

That's what I was thinking because the 56 and 67 have the same approach angle. They have the 72in 2pcs with the gradual incline. But only 8" lift height and they are $340 vs the 67 XT is $363.
Would the 8" lift be enough? My first thought is yes. I am not a huge dude. But far from a small guy. I got about 8" from the floor to the top of chest. Then our ZL1 has about 5in from the floor to the frame. Total clearance would be about 13". Never thought I would be putting this much effort in ramps to change my oils |

At the price of race ramps, why not save more and get a quick jack?
I have to use the 72' one piece race ramp to get the ZLE to load into a trailer without scraping. but the working height with race ramps just isnt much. |

the 72s will work confirmed without the extenders. they do barley and i mean barley contact those little rubber pieces under the splitter however. after the tire makes contact with the ramp they clear. I have used them since i got my ZL1...
Also the lift height is how high the tire from the bottom of it is lifted, not the center of the wheel is off the ground so even with the 8 inch lift you will still have plenty of room, it would be 8 inches plus whatever you have from the ground to the bottom of your car when its on the ground. so another 5 inches i am guessing.

It's only a very small piece of the vertical ridge thats on the front splitter. Not even enough to move the ramp and less then an 1/8" of an inch long part of it. Not even really an issue. |
