Oh no, it seems like they failed to do quality checks for these tires. They don't look new to me.

Under the circumstances described, I would absolutely expect the tires to be replaced by the selling dealer... they can fight with GM over who gets to pay.
When we bought our ZL1 in early November of '18, the dealer was completely clueless about this tire issue. I checked them carefully, since I knew the car had been outside overnight (along with several 'Vettes). First thing I did was get a set of A/S tires, and a second set of wheels for the SC3s... |

UPDATE:
My service advisor called me today and said they are going to bring a set of tires in for the car. Apparently the warranty rep is being a douche about replacing the tires and thinks the dealer is at fault for the damage done. This blows my mind as GM shipped this car in the middle of winter! Would seem pretty reasonable that the tires were damage during shipping. I am happy this is going to be resolved and I didn't have to fight for it. This is one of the reasons I deal with this dealer, can't find any near me that are this good and treat customers like they should be treated. Totally worth my time and the drive.

I store my car in an unheated attached garage in Michigan. Temps inside the garage rarely dip below freezing although it happens occasionally.
I store the car with cold tire pressure at 38 lbs. The key is to NEVER move the vehicle while in winter storage. This seems to have worked for me. Most summer performance tire manufacturers recommend allowing the tire temperatures to rise above 40 degrees for at least 24 hours before moving the vehicle. I ran street legal R compound tires on my C5 Z06 for many years and never had an issue with tires cracking following this protocol. Tyrolblue67 |

It's not just damage you need to worry about. I have experienced significant performance degradation on R comp tires that were stored in conditions that went under 30*F. No actual damage, because they weren't moved at those temps, but no grip when they got back on track in spring.
Any R comp tire (including SC3Rs) should not be exposed to temps under freezing, and will likely suffer damage if the vehicle is moved on them under those conditions. Just my experience. All my track tires spend the winter inside now. |

I went with Michelin Pilot Sport 4s summer tires on my ZL1. They aren't R compund so hopefully they won't be damaged sitting in my garage during winter storage. Hooking up a ZL1 is quite a challenge. Not a bad problem to have. This car is in another league! Thanks for the info. Tyrolblue67 |

I cant see it. To me its an application problem. the tires were moved when cold and just like the manufacture suggested they cracked. I mean I hope the OP gets new tires on his new car that are functional but its not Goodyears fault. I bought my car because I knew it was on the showroom floor all winter nice and warm. Guess that makes me weird.
