⚠️ P2818 Transmission Code ⚠️

Buddy is getting a P2818 Code on his A10 ZL1 2018. I tried searching but didn’t find much info. Car is modified Whipple and Nitrous - transmission is tuned. Worried that the transmission may be on the way out but wondering if anyone else has ran into this. Considering sending it out of state to Tim King but ideally he would like to enjoy it a bit more first. Any first hand experience is helpful, we don’t have many too authorities on the inner workings of A10’s here local in Denver, CO. #PFA

transmission solenoids are usually a simple swap in other transmissions. It maybe just the solenoid failing and no need to replace the entire transmission. It is at least worh a try.

I agree with Stephen. I would replace that solenoid first. I have seen the,m fail on other GM vehicles over the years.

Your transmission runs off of many pressure solenoids. You will need to put it on a pressure testing machine to find which solenoid is malfunctioning. Notice in the description it states it shows a pressure drop as a malfunction solenoid - not which one.

I respectfully disagree. The definition of code P2818 says "Transmission may not shift properly is defined as a pressure control solenoid "H" stuck on".........Then it goes on to say the TCM uses pressure control solenoids - I emphasize the plural - to control the pressure sent to the various clutch packs. When the TCM detects a pressure control solenoid - it doesn't isolate which one because there are multiple solenoids - is not performing as desired, it will set the P2828 code. A line pressure gauge will need to be used to isolate the affected clutch pack and the corresponding solenoid.
