Hood Sealant
So i started using the chemical guys meticulous matte detailer on the hood and I always have a hard time getting it to dry properly. Its very streaky. I usually just go over it with my quick detailer and that solves the issue. Does anybody else have this issue or am I just applying it wrong?

I use it as well and have no issues. Does your quick detailer contain a wax or gloss enhancer? The streaks might be from whatever substance(s) are currently on your vinyl hood wrap from the other product you are using. That is just my theory. I usually spray mine down and wipe off. Then buff it lightly with a microfiber towel until is disappears. Mine seams to disappear almost like alcohol evaporates. It’s there then it’s gone. If I’m applying a wax or sealant to the car and or hood scoop, I will use blue painters tape to protect the lip of the hood from getting contaminated.

No detailer is really needed, I have that same product and didn't see a difference between soap/water/chamois than that product. I don't get what youre getting with that product on my car. I use it sparingly, maybe that's it?

Ive only use it right after I wash my car with turtle wax ice foam and then their regular wash fluid. Maybe I should just leave it alone after, it looks fine before I apply it

Virtually every time you have a problem with a product streaking or splotching it’s because the product is interacting with something that’s already on the surface. Clean the whole hood with Dawn dishwashing detergent, then one pass wipe down with diluted alcohol /water (50-50) And try again…

I use that same Matte detailer and it works fine. Like Glen said must be reacting with the quick detailer.

Nano shock spray sealant. No streaks and beads like ceramic coat.

I used distilled vinegar on my matte hood. It took all the streaks and water spots off and I swear by it

If you wash soaps have a wax or sealant in them you'll want to change soap. Otherwise I been using McGee's Matt detailer and protectant and will probably use it for the life of the car
