Borla vs Flowmaster axle back

Ok guys it's definitely between these two brands now! I've done my research, but am still on the fence. Honestly, I think I might like the overall sound of the Flowmaster (American Thunder) just a hair better than Borla (S-Type or Atak) but my main concern and/or question pertains to possible drone and resonance over the Borla. So as it pertains to the V6 specifically, I'm hoping to get some detailed feedback here. The Flowmaster seems to have a slightly deeper tone (which I love) but how bad is the drone and or resonance? I know the Borla will have no drone or resonance, but it's also $200 more as well. In a nutshell, I'd buy the Flowmaster hands down if I knew there was EXTREMELY MINIMAL drone, and absolutely NO RESONANCE! I can't stand that buzzy/reverberating type sound if you know what I mean. So let's hear it guys...thoughts, opinions, etc. I'm only looking to do the axle back only...nothing else to the exhaust.

Thanks

I just installed a Borla ATAK axleback on two weeks ago, did it with Quickjacks and it took about two hours with me being lame and careful. Very easy install, no drone, and very strong sound for sure. It's loud at acceleration big time but very mellow when cruising to me, even on track setting. A lot of visual impact with the big quad tips as well...

Thanks! If I go with Borla I'm torn between the Atak and S-type. I've heard all the videos and whatnot, and they both sound very similar to be honest, except the Atak a tad louder. Tough call

Lol V8 opinions are welcome too, but obviously the V6 note is a lot different.

I have the Borla ATAK quad-tip axleback on my 2018 V6. Completely satisfied. The sound and profile is top-notch. My only change down the road when I can afford it is to delete the secondary cats.

I really like my axle-back Borla S. But I'm also 67 years old, if that matters!

I'm pretty sure I'd be very happy with Borla, but IMO the Flowmaster seems to sound a hair better. But if it drones, resonates, or anything odd like that, then it's a no go for me.

The more and more I hear, the Flowmaster might be the better choice... especially for the money. The guy at Phastek prefers it over the Borla, and I just got some really good feedback from a member on here. But then again another vendor on here says he likes the Borla much better. Choices lol...

Any drone at all? How is the black powder coating holding up? Anything that you don't like about it at all?

Another thing I learned about the Flowmaster is that it's actually not a muffler on the 6th gen V6. It's a specifically built resonator that was made specifically for the V6. Flowmaster says that this produced the best overall sound on our particular cars. I find that rather interesting.

Well I ordered the Flowmaster American Thunder kit, and it just arrived. Looks really good. I'm gonna try and install it tomorrow. I'll keep you all posted
