So p o'ed!! Just learned I can't use all my GM Card earnings for my car.

So I just learned that I can't use all my GM Card earnings for my Camaro.
WTF!!

The woman said I'm only able to use $1,500.

Is that right??

Seems like a bunch of BS.
I've been putting EVERYTHING on my GM Card since I got it 7 years ago so that I could get a nice discount.

Now this?

What a bunch of horse $#!#

Yep, rules changed about a dozen years ago. If you have one of the old gm cards, it was unlimited but you couldn't earn more than $500/yr for 7 years, max discount was $3500. Now, new card, earnings unlimited, but capped by Miguel. Sorry, old news.

I did not ask. That's on me.

The woman at Capital One said it's in the Terms, but I'm sure it's fine print legalese.

I went through the same thing with Capital one. 1500 is it. I lucked out the last day and got a 1000 private offer when I took delivery which helped.

all vehicles are different, 1500 on camaro, however was able to use 3000 last year on my new tahoe. You can check the earnings website and it shows what model/ year gets what allowance of earnings you can use.

When GM got rid of Pontiac and Saturn we will able to use the whole card on any Pontiac/Saturn, if I remember correctly. We ended up getting a Pontiac Vibe for what cost us the change in our pockets

But yes, only got 1500 on the Camaro. The GM website tells you this very clearly and explains the max discount on every car. The spark is like 500, corvette 3000

I had the old Chase GM Business Card which had no limits. Used $6500 on my ZL1 and just used $7500 on my Cruze. It's now a Capital One Buypower Business Card and it seems to have remained the same. Let see next time.

I still have the old gm card that I got over 20 years ago, unlimited points never giving that account up. I think I have averaged 3500$ off on 4 GM cars. Camaro was 3700 points + 1000 private offer + 500 GM Rebate at the time.

They have an upper level GM Card nowadays.
You earn 5% for the 1st $2000(?) within a year and then 2% for the remainder of your purchases for that year.
And then I think you can use all of your earnings toward your purchase. Or maybe the cap is higher.

I'd switch to this card but you can only carry over $300 of your earnings from the lesser card.

It depends which card you have. Don't believe they offer the old type anymore.
