I got to fully test the Cosmo MMs out fully today on my way to work in the rain. It was raining pretty steady and my drive is 90% highway. Going straight at 75 MPH was no problem. Around some bends it felt kinda loose. At 70 MPH it was pretty much solid. AT some points I dropped it to 65 MPH and they held perfectly. This was steady rain. Not a deluge but not a sprinkle. And it was heavy at some points. It didn't feel as steady as the DWS tires I had on my SS years ago felt. But they did well.
On that note my 2 front PS4S tires arrived and will be going to the shop in the morning. I'll be having all 4 replaced either tomorrow or Wednesday. It depends on how I feel after this 16 hour shift. Here is a cool pic...my HC has a little emblem of a HC in the bottom left corner of the windshield. |

Tires were waiting for me when I got home in the morning and I took the car to the shop in the afternoon. The install went easy. The mechanic remarked that these were easier to do than the Cosmo MMs even tho these are 30s and the MMs are 40s. The PS4S tires have a softer sidewall. Anyway everything went well.
My first impressions are that these are really good tires. I thought the stock tires were great when they were brand new. I would put these right up there with them. But these might grip better in wet and cold conditions. Time will tell once I get some more seat time with them. I drove the ZL1 to work tonight and the tires handle very well. It was not raining tonight but the roads were a little wet. Still tho I had no problems at 75-80 MPH. I think these were a good buy!! |

Next up...I think I'm gonna order some LTs this weekend. I'm gonna go with 2" catless TSPs. That is, if they will work with my MBRP catback. I'll probably have to do some cutting and fitting.
Although I initially wanted to do the LTs with the blower swap in one shot I kinda changed my mind and decided to do it as a stand alone mod. I always been a fan of seeing how each individual mod improves a car so that is the driving force. I'll go with a custom tune as well. If I do get them this week then I'll have to wait a couple weeks to do the install as I'll be out of the country next week and am working every night straight until I leave. Stay tuned for that. |

Yeah, I need to do better at the drag strip and hope for these to be somewhat streetable, too. Will move the 285/35/20 PS4S to the front and use the R888R's for the rear. If this doesn't work out, I'll go back to PS4S all around.

Did you get a break in the weather to really give them a good test?

On the negative side, they are noisy, think monster truck whine proportional to speed, and boy, do they wear fast. I think I'll go back to PS4S for everyday driving.

So here is a thought on my next moves. I was considering buying another bike. A Suzuki Boulevard M109R BOSS in particular. But then it hit me that it might be a good idea to just use that money to mod both cars. Ok so Juiced Motorsports has the 775 HP package available for $4860 OTD installed and dyno tuned. I could do that in two weeks. Or the 900+ HP Whipple package for $12,500 OTD installed and tuned which I could do in 3 weeks.
Then in 4 weeks I could do a HHP 850 HP package on the HC and be up to about 750ish RWHP OTD for around $2300. Or I can skip all that and buy another motorcycle...I really want a Suzuki Boulevard M109R Boss and a Kawasaki ZX14 to add to my collection. It is either one of the other. Do both cars and have 2 killer monsters or get the two bikes and have 3 badass motorcycles to add to my arsenal. Tough choices lie ahead, lol!! I think I am gonna go the way of the car upgrades as I can get those bikes in the future. But I can also do the upgrades in the future and get the bikes now. Either way, unless the itch becomes too much, I will hold off on deciding for about 4 weeks until my NY contract is up. If my contract gets renewed then I'll do all options at the same time, lol!! Any input is appreciated!! As of right this moment I do not know which way I am leaning towards... |
