My Elusive Dream: A Blue 2013-2014 ZL1?
First we need a ZL1.
I have not given up on a Victory Red ZL1. No No. People like me,(there are many others on C5 as well) see things others cannot. Its true. Have you ever see a person that no matter what you say they are simply impossible to stop? They have something on the inside of them that propels them forward. They see they're dream slowly becoming reality that they keep marching toward it, even if they die before obtaining it. So.. While I am marching... I have lots of TIME. Others on here have lots of TIME. I saw the video of the white ZL1 yesterday. Simply FANTASTIC! A very beautiful car. To be 100% honest.... After seeing that I am not 100% sure I want Victory Red. No I have not changed my mind, but yet it let me see something that I have not seen. I have seen White SS in person, but they did nothing for me. But to see the white with the black...(remember blingage) it really pops! And......... I know there will be a blue Camaro..... not for 2012... but I know there will be one.. Someday.... With absolutely no knowledge of this maybe being a reality one day, one can hope for a Blue Camaro or a Blue ZL1 Camaro. The YM 2013 Camaro/Zl1 is right around the corner. I have seen myself and many others patiently wait for a 2012 ZL1 since the very beginning of this year. I have been waiting 5 yrs for a 5th gen, and since July of this year for a ZL1. The change over to the 13 model year will be mid year...not too far off from now.. maybe less than 6 months....so what is another 6 months or a year from now to wait? The Blue Camaro will be back..... When? I have not a clue.... A Blue ZL1? I have not a clue. Shall we wait long enough to see? There are members waiting for a Z28 that may never come....or May come... So why not wait for a Blue ZL1 when we know there will at least be a 2013 ZL1.... so whats a few more months....? To be continued.........................

My smart wife says I really need to wait til 2013 and let the 2012 buyers find out all the bugs. She just really wants a BMW convertible this year. SHe is playing the Jedi mind trick on me.

It would be a dream come true for me. A Lemans blue '14 zl1 just might make me.....................buy one lol!!

I think we need to start a waiting list for the 13-14 YM people!
I vote for Drake to start the list....  I know G. bear is out there somewhere waiting for a YM 13 vert!

Stop with all this non-sense Camaro King... your getting "Bruce" in a 2012 model... you need too... you have been waiting longer then anyone here... so u deserve to get it sooner or sametime as everyone else... just buy the dang thing and worry about finances later lol (:

She stopped paying on it.. She had in the divorce decree she was responsible.. She stopped paying on it after the divorce...GMAC does not care about divorce decrees... She had the car... I was responsible for payments... Strike 2...... My new then wife in 2000 we had both good credit.. made good money... Bought a lot of nice stuff for the house... Big Tv's..... I helped her in a custody battle to get her kids back with my credit... High attorney bills... But we were still working... Then fate... We both lost our jobs... We were extended beyond our means.... Could not pay the debts.... Strike 3..... fast forward from year 2000 to now.... It has taken all that time to fix my credit.... Other than one thing I am working on...still paying on.. My credit is clean... I have 0 Debt at the moment..... So... Unless you are feeling very very saucy....  I ordered the Z back when knowing about the settlement check... For down payment.... Then finance the rest... My mistake for trusting the lawer telling me it would be here in Jan... I knew I would not even need the check until at least March or so... As we still do not have a production date and you can figure probably at least 2 months till delivery after production starts... And the check still could get here by then or by the time the car gets built.. and then again the check might make it here Dec of 2012.... I simply do not have $30k for down payment at this writing. It could be when the check gets here I can pay for the car in full. And to be honest I really DO want to pay for it in full with cash... The longer I wait for the check... The bigger the check becomes.. SO... thats a GOOD thing here.. I am way too old to make a strike 4...... If I did I would be at least 60 yrs old before I could fix it again.. I think one strike is way too many ....Don't make the first mistake. Credit is simple. Buy something, pay your payments in FULL in TIME and you will keep good credit.... When I had ordered this car I had not asked "the force" (since supreme beings don't care about cars) if we can pay for it in full... Now.. The time of testing has come.... for me at least... Thanks Drake for your post. You are kind. Did you tell us what you have decided to do with the SS though?

Sounds to me like the battle of mind over matter, head over heart; fact over fiction; real vs imagined; one thing for sure, debtors will never let you live stress free. If the ZL1 causes stress, debt, anxiety, and additional maintenance costs, like that dropped valve, you have no "backup" plan. Sounds fragile at best to me. Though I am in the peanut gallery.
