I want more whine out of my Magnuson 2300

I don't drive the car much these days and was messing around in the car today and was wondering why so many other SC kits make a solid whining noise but this car is quiet. Are there any options?

Yup, it's quiet at 10-11 psi that mine is churning out. 15-16 psi should give you more whine if that's your cup of tea. At the risk of stating the obvious, you'll need other upgrades, don't try to just install a pulley.

Actually it's the lid on the 2300 that keeps them quiet. I had a Corvette lid on mine and it was pretty loud compared to my 2300 on my 16 with the Camaro lid. TooHighPsi is developing a 2300 billet lid. The Lt4 2300 lid would be great but you can't buy them anymore. I bought the last one that Magnuson had when we did the 2022 Camaro build with the TooHighPsi PI. I was only running 11 psi but it was like 18 psi on the Camaro 2300 lid. The lid is much thinner on the Lt4 2300 lid, plus lighter.

This lid make it whine

These.

Given - I have a billet lid, so that was already louder (and I don't recall seeing a billet lid for your version of a 2300), but with just dropping to a 5mm smaller pullet, whine went up some.

And everything both posts above said, consequently.

Or for maximum whine just put my wife in the passenger seat. Even when the car is turned off, you will hear it.

I think it will be coming for the 2300 as I posted earlier. I think Mike at THPSI has been getting more requests for the Billet 2300 lid.

Excellent. I keep visualizing the LS3-style lids, but I think Gen Vs are flatter, aren't they?...

Yes, only the Z06 or Zl1 2300s had the flat lid like mine. Mine was a Z06 2300 lid, had to be for the hood clearance. Just the Camaro SS had the double humped lid like what Teddy has on his Camaro. The Ls3 lid does look real similar to the Lt1 lids.

I agree on the lid being the culprit. Magnuson lids even on the 2650 really insulate and dampen the rotor whine. The DSX lid on the 2650 brings the whine level up to 85% of a Hellcat.

Agreed. The difference between the stock Maggie lid to a billet lid was really surprising to me. I hadn't had any experience prior, so I had nothing to base expectations off of, but it was a notable difference. I like it. If there's something I don't like, there's a little more gear noise from the rotor group, but that's about it. I'm not a fan of the crunchy-Procharger-sound, lol. It makes me nervous, lol. Another benefit, to at least many of the billet lids, is the dividers they add above the discharge ports. I like that feature.

I may be the odd one out, but I want power out of the supercharger, not ball bearing whine A little bit doesn't hurt, but the Hellcat is way, way too whiny.
